Hello everyone, today I'm on a campaign to test Smart Pricing, and to actually see if anything happens if I remove all my google adsense ads, from low CTR (CTR doesn't effect smart pricing) sites, and sites which I believe don't convert good. I removed all my ads except one, http://www.cursors-4u.com. The reason I picked this site can be read in the blog I wrote above.

What does everyone think? Thoughts on Smart Pricing, besides the smart pricing thread that says it sucks? As an advertiser and a publisher, I see good and bad things.

    I agree....as an advertiser it's a big help...as a publisher it is somewhat of a hindrance.

Well I hope your test goes well. For me, I have removed adsense from my smaller sites and only run adsense on one site that averages in the high teens - high twenties for CTR. Although I have not seen any difference at all, everyclick payout remains abismally low. The content is very focused too. :(

I plan on running it for 1-2 months. According to the leak, smart pricing can take effect in as little as 1 week. So we'll see.

Smart pricing is much more in favor of Advertisers than publishers I think. Becuase now a days people are coming out with all these get rich schemes with adsense. Publishers who will not have a greater effect, will be publishers who have better content and probably publishers with larger sites.

Even though they say CTR doesn't have an effect on smart pricing, it takes ctr to get directly to conversions.

a lot of publishers are already complaining about drop in a per click basis, I suspect this could be smart pricing at work.

Can I ask you, is that site a high traffic site or a smaller traffic site? Small would be less than 500. Or even 100.

experiment has been running for 2 days. So far, so good. As expected, CTR has increased, about 100%, and ecpm up about 50%. However, according to the leak about smart pricing on jensense's web page, it takes up to a week. So this is nothing.

Also, a question arised, what about "Site Targetted Ads". What about it, you ask? Does google treat site targetted ads the same as contextual when it comes to smart pricing? Ad advertiser obviously thinks that he/she is going to have a better ROI if they decide to advertise on a particular site, right? As of yesterday I disabled the site targetting link.

My uniques usually fall below 500 only on weekends. But during the weekday my average is 600-800
