My links on other sites rank higher than my site

    Is this a common problem.

For many/most of my keywords I find that if I do a search links from co-op ads will be on google 1st page and I'm way down on page (stopped looking after page 15)

My links from DP website are on the 1st page.

    I could go on........

WHY is this, how can I buck the trend and get my site above all my links on other sites????

I have quite a few PR3 and PR4 pages on my site.

    Thanks Ian

It may be because they are authority valued web pages but with little effort of seo and link building you can get up. :)

Can you give the url and the keywords for us to give better response...

There are many factors to consider like what Mong said..

-Maybe you have thousands of links "BUT" are those sites related to your sit?
-Is your domain new? Maybe your site is caught in the age delay filter.

This is perfectly normal and means your link campaign is working. Have patience and keep building those links.

It usually happens for the new websites. As you may know already high traffic forums are crawlled more often by google bot as should be. The links posted in such forum get ranked very well for the first couple of weeks and than google drops such listings from the serps eventually. It basically has nothing to do with the PR of the site. This usually happen for little known less competitive keywors.

So don't worry too much, those listings will be dropped in a matter of days.

I had exactly the same problem with a Wikipedia link. Wikipedia was placed 1 and 2 and mysite 3. Today guess what, I was No.1 ! I guess you need to wait a week or two. What moved me up though I think was my DMOZ listing that just came through.
