I guess I noticed it most when I married my wife (who is black). Our child is mixed and the black side of the family is far less accepting. I even physically fought her brother and heard more racial slurs from him than I would have caught in a Michael Richards stand-up routine. Everywhere we go, black people (mostly men) look at us as though we just murdered a puppy. And our daughter feels it, too - which is all that matters to me, since I don't let it bother me. I think it's funny. If I got into the specific nastiness coming form her family you might not believe it, so suffice it say - there being racist has definately affected me and my family's life.

    Any other questions?

I hear you there.. Ever seen the movie "Guess Who"?

Sounds a lot like what you are describing. It's sad that your daughter will likely bear the brunt of all this negativity. Anyway, I know where you are coming from.

Don't you think that if one race is prejudiced against another, that may lead to hate crimes? Murder? Beatings? Rape?

I guess it can hurt you more personally

I used to live with a black girl, we wern't married or anything but we lived together for like 4 years

Her family hated me and when we were out together in primarily black neighborhoods people would say stuff, but I never really cared. I guess it would be different if there was a kid involved.

Speaking of Al and Jesse, you notice that they suddenly dis-appeared when the Duke LaCrosse players were found to be completely innocent after almost a year of calling for their heads?

I guess saying "I was wrong" is something that they only expect from other people...

It's not even so much Jesse and Al as it is all people no mater what race, religion, etc. that are so quick to crucify and even quicker to run away and hide when they are proven wrong.

In Imus' case, he has been a sanctimonious a** from day one as witnessed by the numerous stories from co-workers long before his latest episode of diarrhea of the mouth, it is just funny that it took the proverbial loss of green (as in dollars) due in part to Jesse and Al for his employers before they acted.

Just proves if you make money for your employers no matter how much of an idiot you are, your job is pretty much safe unless you do something to piss off the wrong people, re: The Jesse's and Al's of the world that hold the ears of those that control the purse strings

Who wants to bet that if I started an NAAWP (White People) that I would be marked as a racist and shot to death?

Oh, someone already went into a rage calling someone that suggested that in another thread a name I'd prefer not to repeat.
