I recently had just hired a graphic designer (they are a team) to create my logo, and they are indians. When I just saw your logos, without looking at your profile picture. I just felt that you are from India as well. No offence! Please understand that I'm not a racist... I just felt that there's some kind of common tone from many indian designers.. Just my opinion!
This common tone, is it good, or bad? I have bad experiences with people from India as well, even from other countries, too. Most don't walk the talk, some are excellent. But the rule is, you get what you pay for. I'm not an Indian, nor from the country myself, but judging from the designs, he has good eyes. One requirement of a good logo is that it works in black and white, and the logos presented works great. That's one. But when we look at the concepts, he is totally out of range. The marks are all abstract, we don't know why the specific shapes. Maybe it's personal, maybe it's related to his client. All in all, as for my review to his design, regardless of ethnicity, race or color, these logos are at par with the trends, requires more practice and influence. Browse, read and practice. I have a few links that can help sharpen our skills in this industry; http://www.logodesignlove.com/brand-identity-style-guides http://www.logodesignlove.com/negative-space-logo-design http://www.logodesignlove.com/logo-design-tips It's a good read, and hopefully designers will become more aware of particularity and details in doing one's work. Cheers!
Thanks for your feedback by the way you said that im out of control about Logo concepts. Maybe you are correct, but i have one thing to say. For example we can take KSFA logo. In that you can see three leaves of coconut tree which indicates Kerala ( A state in India). And three leaves in round indicates partnership. Then at center you can see Flag of Qatar. So i mean Group of Kerala People working in Qatar. And that's what KSFA do. Thanks
The common tone...umm...good or bad? Honestly, I don't know. The indian designer team I hired had a really nice portfolio (well, that's why I hired them!) However, the logos they created for me.. are just.........(still have that kind of "tone," but in a bad way) You are right, they offered a low price. It was their proposal ! I, myself, are originally from Taiwan, but were educated in United States. I've been relocated to Taiwan and had just recently started a new business. However, when I was searching for graphic designers, I couldn't find anyone whom I really like in Taiwan. (well, another kind of common tone which I personally don't like ) Due to convenient communication, I still hired one to design my business card. The result was.........HORRIBLEï¼ï¼ï¼ So, I started to search for new designers wordwide since I wasn't planning to put any Chinese characters on my cards... and then I found one in the USï¼ I am pretty satisfied with the resultï¼ Why don't I hire her for designing my logo? well, I only like her styles of designing BC but not the logos. (sorry. kinda off the topic here..) Well, I really don't know having this common tone is a good thing or not? Maybe it presents your culture, and increase some kind of recognition to attract people who are from the same cultural background. Then, it's a good thing tho? However, the "common" tone can eventually be vicual cliches as well... For instance, seeing the similar kind of stuff everywhere... Just my opinion, on offense! (rolodex..I was like... this id looks familiar...ummm.... thanks again for your warm welcome)
Care to share about the rest of your concept? FF Control & Above Tech. Honestly I'd to know what's in your mind producing those shapes. I love to expand my perspective knowing what others think, and maybe we will. I always share mine, except for those with Non-Disclosure Agreement, or some high valued contests.
