Ok, i'm just about ready to give people previews of my new forum, it's actually a forum for my (in progress) design portfolio minus19.com. Just wanted to show people. http://www.minus19.net Feel free to join and fill the board up thanks, Marc
The layout is okay , but the color scheme isn`t what I was expecting. The top banner is also to empty , fill the spaces with something , it`ll look better. Good luck with it.
Thanks to both of you. I do have some paid posters etc. There's a lot of admin only content planned, which i need to find time to add myself over the next few days. The header will be changed every two weeks, but thats was a quick fix last night. Maybe see you both there in about 6 months time
but do you assess if they put quality posts or just rubbish? And $1/10posts seems quite expensive....
Damn right I will. Well, I see it that if people make 100 posts thats just $10, it saves a long slow build up which always happens at the start of a new forum. People wont post on an empty forum.
now that u put it in perspective for 100 posts, its ok i guess. Starting a forum is tough, in your shoes too. If you have other suggestions/idea, do share
It's just an image, it's not coded. Good idea though, shocking I hadn't thought of that myself. The real join now doesnt work atm for some odd reason.
It may be a good idea to write something about the primary distinctive features of your forum in a prominent place somewhere between the header and the list of the topics because it is a long way to your rules now.
I think the seals should have some sort of gradient and shape to it instead of being flat (check out my seal tutorial at: (http://www.photoshop-tutorials.info/photoshop-award-seal.html) its really easy to make with some layer styles
