I was wondering what your opinions were on my husband's domain name: hotzone.com. He never sold thinking it might be used for unethical things, but I may need to sell. Thanks for your best guestimations!!

Why should you sell it when your husband will not sell it anyway?

I mean, think of this carefully. It is a gift, :)

My husband will not sell it because he is no longer with us the sell it. I may need to sell it for the money that it might bring. I know that folks were offering around $20K at one time, but this was many years ago. Not sure what the demand would be any more if any.

That's a pretty good name. You would have gotten way more than you can now before the economy tanked and domaining was still popular. Right now, I'm not sure. More than low xxxx though.

By the way, "IMO" means "in my opinion".

That is definately a good value premium domain, and even though it is not a hugely popular search term "hot zone" is extremely brandable, easy to remember and generic, and would be a great investment to the right person.

If it was mine I would probably ask for between $15k - $25k and negotiate from there....... but seriously, I would get a professional valuation before I mention any figures. It could actually be worth putting in to one of the big auctions that come up every now and again.

    In the meantime....
Make sure that you have access to the email listed for it in whois, in case you recieve any interest while it is in your possesion, and also make sure that it does not run out of date at the register and expire.

If you list it on flippa you'll probably get around $10k to $30k.
