Well after not being able to log in for the last few days I emailed EPN only to find out that my account has expired (as they call it) for "low quality". Does anyone know what "low quality" means? I really would like to know. I was making close to $1000/ month in commissions which means that ebay sellers were selling their stuff from the traffic from my sites (it would have to be in the tens of thousands of dollars for commissions to be that high). It's amazing that they treat their affiliates that way because I never recieved a letter telling me that I was expired. It wasn't until I asked why I couldn't log in. Also, I'll probably not get paid my last month of commission which was over $1,000. One side of me is bummed but the other side is fine with it because I was starting to feel every month that I could be next.
I was making $2-3k a month with them but I think it's time to pack my bags I feel every month there getting closer and closer to just calling it a day with there affiliate program. These new TOS change are whats making me leave cause what's the next update going to be like and the update after that I just can't go on with them like that there going to end up banning half of there affiliates over time only keeping the top quality ones.
Once again a tale of the ego too large for the kingdom. To them we are just bottom feeders in their large kingdom. I think it may be a blessing in disguise to move forward before they really screw you over. Search the other forum because this is not the first time I have heard this in the past couple weeks.
What product were you promoting? Ebay is very strange. They complain about low quality, but don't give you the tools to see what the quality is. Not that it should matter anyway! It is CPA! That's the POINT of CPA.
That's horrible. I think they might feel that your site were not providing enough content and not adding to "the ebay experience"? do you mind showing examples of your pages???
I was driving traffic to a couple of designer handbag sites. (one is in my sig) According to my epn reports, people were buying $30,000 handbags. Can you imagine, the seller was probably saying "Sweet!" when that happened. It seems that the seller would care less who bought it or where he/ she came from as long as he got paid but ebay did, only to the hurt of the affiliates, the sellers, and ultimately themselves.
Nice site.. have you thought of finding other programs like amazon or linkshare or a similar program?? sorry to hear about epn - it looks like you put lots or work into your site
I'm just only starting to make money on ebay and am now looking around for another avenue? Any suggestions anyone?
I knew after the new rules update many affiliates will get the hammer. It's starting to happen! FEEPN is not worth the trouble anymore, unless you want to lose sleep every night until you finally get your "YOUR OUT JUST BECAUSE...PERIOD" email. If you are interested in a CPC program, ASE Adnet offers many products in many categories. Someone clicks, you get paid. No gimmicks, no fuss. www.aseadnet.com (I own this advertising network)
I'm not sure what I'll do. As soon as I can I'll convert my ebay sites to phpzon (an amazon plugin) from phpbay. I just have to keep moving forward. I feel for those that really depend on this sort of income just to have it pulled out from under them with no warning.
I think that is where I'm at. I could beg for re-instatement but didn't like the constant wondering if I would get paid. Even if I was re-instated would I get the commissions owed me or would they have start fresh? Too much of a hassle. I need to be more in control of my earnings.
I've heard members that have been banned are still getting paid so yes I suppose it depends what you where banned for if you have been cookie stuffing than maybe you'd lose it but I really don't know.
The EPN is going the same direction the main site went. Once eBay was packed with sellers and people depended on it, eBay said "screw the sellers they need us, we can do whatever we want" Now with the EPN they are doing the same thing, they have all these affiliates throwing massive traffic their way but they dont want to pay for it anymore.
You can get your money out unless you were "knowingly" violating their TOS. You could always purchase a verified EPN and use that. Let me know if I can be any help.
I can't believe that some people are making that much money with eBay. I have joined about a year ago and the most I have made is $3. I don't really worry about being terminated.
Same as everybody else I have seen the writing on the wall and I expect that one day my account will also be terminated. I am focusing on other affiliate programs while looking forward to the day when the horses asses running ebay eat sh*t and die horrible deaths.
I use to like using EPN but have moved over to Amazon in the last 12 months and i still think it was a wise move.My account is still open but i can see it being closed sometime due to it not being used.
