    Hi
    Its six months old laptop.

It gets slower after running an hour or so. I have reinstalled the os.

Could any body advise me what to do? Or what might be the reasons?

Did you use your brain before you put this question in the General Marketing forum?

The Ventilation might be getting blocked , if you are keeping it on bed or carpet .

Try to keep it cool by putting on a desk .

Like techno mentioned, it could be the heat that is getting to your laptop.
Ensure that there is enough ventilation or get a laptop cooler.

How much RAM do you have? Are you using FireFox?

Because some apps (like FireFox) continue to expand their RAM footprint, and you start to have to swap memory, slowing the laptop down

If you are using a Toshiba Laptop , you may need to setup your fan speed to maximum performance in order to solve the heat issue .

Same has happened with me .

First it gets slower and then shuts down .

Ventilation... hmm, that should not be the main reason of why your laptop is being slowed down. The likely reason should be that you have too many applications running in the background, that are clogging up the processes. That's the reason why laptop slows down.

If heat is an issue, then what you should be expecting is processor being fried - rendering your laptop not usable.

If ventilation is fine then it might be the Virtual Memory being set low coz after all your Laptop runs fine for the initial 1 Hour .

yep i would say its some kind of memory leak problem ,more noticable when running firefox (and some other aps) for long periods of time with little amounts of ram (like under 1gb)

    My thoughts exactly.
The trojan might be up as soon as you switch your laptop on, just that its whatever activity can be handled by your notebook for about an hour..
Any chance for a different OS test installation? Just to clear up doubts about the software integrity that's being used..
