They are generally slow in everything, replying, updating stats, payments etc.
Mika told me to change my current ads to kontera and i did to test out the last time. Here are the stats :
    Date Net Imp Clicks CTR(%) Revenue($) eCPM($)
    05/15/2008 3,295 112 3.40% $1.43 $0.43

wow 112 clicks and 1.43$ adbrite would have paid a lot more than this. :(

Did you mean Adbrite Inline Ads which look similar to Kontera's, or regular text ads (look like Adsense)?

The Adbrite inline ads which are similar to kontera ads because we would obviously compare two similar ad formats.

So.. continuing my experiment, and I see you got quite a chatter here...
Wel I've finally received the ok to start with the program, so I installed the ads via a joomla mod, so now we are waiting for the ads to appear...

I've installed the code and I can allready see first keywords. Not sure if the keyword championship should link to s gold/silver selling webshop, but we will see (this was the first keyword that poped up an ad).
I will let kontera run for at least a week, before I make first conclusions about the payment rates

So, months later this experiments is closed.
I actually forgot a bit about my Kontera ads on the site (I don't see it a lot on the frontpage, I just see the admin section)....
So I remembered and went to check, what is going on on my account...
I get min. $.20 per day on google adsense, so I hoped to see similar results from Kontera... Sadly, what I saw was much less, getting $0,02 per day or even less is still the case.
So I see that the Kontera ads are not good advertising for my site. Sadly, I removed them and will be using only google adsense...
So, I hope you got some interesing info from this thread...

That's sad to hear. Kontera has really been slipping lately, and Adbrite as well. but AdSense tends to beat other networks.

You can put up those two ads at the same page. I have seen it done by a lot of webmasters.

Kontera ads are not meant to replace Adsense, they are meant to be complimentary to Adsense. This way, ContentLinks bring in an additional income to many websites. You can read about it here.

Page loading speed is not supposed to slow down because of ContentLinks. There may be an error on your page involving the Kontera tag. If you send me your site's details, our optimization team will have a look to sort it out.

@mika.kontera I know that they should be used one next to the other and this is what I've done, and I got like 10X less income from contera than from adsense, this shows clearly for me, that there just is no future in kontera ads on my site..

    Hi Pablo,
I'm sorry to hear this was you conclusion. If you send me the url of the site where you made the experiment, I could see what factors influenced the result.

Presten, as I mentioned before, Kontera ads are most often complimentary to Adsense- not equal in revenue. If the results were significantly lower, it may be due to a number of reasons including traffic source. Is your site's traffic mostly international or US? There are many other things you can do to optimize a site and make more out of ContentLinks. Find more ideas here.
