I've been ranking, and still do rank, in the top five on G for my main keywords. Of my 1500 unique visitors per day, 89% has been organic search traffic from Google. I've noticed a drop in visitors recently, and after looking at my Analytics stats, on Aug 20th I had 1100 visitors from my keywords, on the 21st it was down to 800 visitors, and over the next three days, traffic from my keywords went down to around 200 per day. The odd thing is that my keywords haven't changed their positions. I still rank in the top 5 for everything that was bringing me the traffic before. So this means that people just stopped searching for my keywords overnight? Something else must be wrong, but I can't figure out what it is. Any ideas on what else I should be looking at?
Well I've looked at every possible reason for this drop, and I can't figure out how people would just drop their searches in half overnight. I'm down almost 500 unique visitors per day and can't figure out why, because nothing has changed in the search engines.
Perhaps your rankings just dropped on certain Google data centers. Try finding a tool that lets you choose which data center to search. I used to have one bookmarked, but the site went offline. I rather doubt the keyword search volume would drop that much unless the keyword was related to specific event or season.
