I changed my optical illusion blog to a white background with nice accents and the readers voted to go back to the black background.

I don't have white fonts but I think it reads fine.

Maybe either change your links to white like your Adsense fonts, or change your Adsense fonts to blue like your links. The idea is to blend your ads into your site, and having two sets of colored links make it stand out.

At first I assumed this was a variant on the "ugly sells" philosophy. But looking at that blog screenshot, I see that's not necessarily the case. This should be worth experimenting with.

Jack, great tip. I have also found black on white to be the best format. The templates that come with SEO Article Composier, which have gave me an average CTR of 50%, are all black on white.

I do not plan on changing any time soon.

Nice, but then again I'd put the top 4 pictures apart so they match the ads bellow.

Thanks for the tip. My whole site has a black / dark blue background. CTR is around 5%. Would changing colours improve that? (site in sig)

    Hey Guys,

jack could be on something great. It is really some great trcks to that. As almost everyone has noted it, better the page lower the CTR and worse page have better CTR. ( This I have noticed And seen it in many forum discussion. )

We should not generalize it. A secific color and font may be r may not be work great with a particular website or even pages to micro level. We need to test and prove it with our own sites. Black background and with green border may be good. Who Know.

But I will not use those. It make a site look unprofessional.

I like the use of the large font. Everyone always uses standard size or smaller.

Everyone discusses how color can effect clicks but I haven't seen anyone explore the effect of font size and font style?
