My Hubpage Was Removed From Live Today!

Because of how well my first hubpage-landing -page is doing in terms of ranking, and traffic with Google and Yahoo... I decided to continue using hubpage for the new product I started promoting recently.

I did some work on the hub today and was in the process of doing some social bookmarking, but had a look at my hub... only to find that it wasn't live. This message appeared at the top: "Overly Promotional: This Hub excessively promotes another site."

I didn't know that hubpage was this strick, I'm really thinking about moving my landing pages elsewhere before my account gets deleted.

So has anyone else ever had this kind of problem using hubpage?

There's a way to get around it.

Cloak the links, use different link cloakers.

Hubpages flags your hub if it contains many links to one single site.

What you need to do is the following, If you have 5 links to your site on your hubpages then:

For the first link use the original link to your page (uncloaked)
Cloak the second link with tinyurl
Cloak the second link with tubeurl
Cloak the third link with a similar cloaking service
    etc. etc.

I still got flogged for using tinyurl and even got an email telling that tinyurl is on an option either. So I just removed the links with tinyurl, and decided to stick to there rule of just posting 1-2 links that point to a specific url.

Yeah, you have to watch it with Hubpages....they are much more quick to ban your hub if they don't approve. But that also means they have been ranking pretty well with Google lately.

    hubpages sucks
    They only allow 2 links
    if you keep 2 links
    then it fine
    or else they'll delete [:(]

    Hubpages.com
    Is what hubpages is :)
There you can write articles and publish them
You will get some revenue when it gets traffic ( revenue sharing programme)
Since it has page rank 6
if we review our product there, then our article may appears in best serp's results.so people can use it like that

I had a hub which had 4 links to the same site, and I got flagged, I just cloaked the links using various cloaking sites.

1 link is the uncloacked affiliate link
1 link is an tinyurl link
    1 link is an off.to
    1 link is a way.to link

    All the links are different
The hub is no longer flagged and is running with no problems for a few months!

I don't know why your hub is still flagged. I think hubpages allows up to 2 links to the same site.

Be careful with hubpages. You maybe able to get away with the various tinyurl/other redirect links but I think once they are watching you - you are pretty much screwed. And I really think they will eventually catch people who have the multiple redirect links.

I would play it safe and stick with just the 2 links that they allow.

Of course another problem is that their links are very unattractive - they are hard to even see with their light gray color.

I definitely think folks are making the wrong choice if they use hubpages as their main landing page. It's worth having your own domain/webhosting so you can make a real landing page with better results. I think it's better to use hubpages/squidoo and all of those other free things to direct people to your landing page (on your own domain) instead of using them as your landing page.

Good idea, that's why I started working with my own domains and hosting. I don't wanna rely on others, and worry about their limitations and rules

But you're comfortable relying completely on EzineArticles?

    Dude wtf.

Even if you have your own domain, you still want, no NEED to use these web 2.0 hub sites. At least if you care about your rankings.

Not only hubpages, but squidoo, xomba, zimbio, wikidot, wetpaint, blogger, wordpress, and so on, and so on.

The links from these places are HIGH fucking quality, and you can dominate the entire google front page for keywords.

Howie Schwartz COMPLETELY dominated the first 3 pages on Google for the term "Download traffic secrets" and "download traffic secrets 2.0" and all related things. Not one listing on the first 3 pages wasn't his.

He made over $4k that day. Or at least by the time he recorded that video...

Web 2.0 guys, web 2.0... I still can't see why Ezine Articles is so magical and why you would rely entirely on it. After all it's about multiple streams of income isn't it?

    Web fucking two point oh.

Yes, you are right, but what I mean is that you should have your own website or blog, and that should be your main income stream, and all those "web fucking two point oh" sites are just for rankings....

Yes Bl4ckman you have a valid point... But everyone has to have a starting point.
As a noob, these sites are a great place to start using because they are very easy to edit and ranks pretty decent.

Coming into affiliate marketing not knowing anything about seo and all the necessaries to start generating high volumes of traffic, there is no better place to start than any of the sites Lem mentioned.

I do think that as you grow in this business, you should make all the effort to acquire your own domain after you have learned the trade. And as Lem pointed out, you would be foolish to ignore these sites even after getting your own domain, because they are highly rated by Google and the other search engines.

I get traffic from Google and Yahoo daily to a hub which I haven't done much promotion for, yet it's on the 1st page of Yahoo and sometimes average 20+ visitors just from yahoo alone.

lemonarian, some of those web 2.0 sites look kind of interesting. Some look like they have some built in monetization, like allowing Asense (but take a cut) or allowing affiliate links. By chance you have a review of your favorites lisiting the features of each?

I'd say stick with the rules .... and try to find ways how you can get the same success within the parameters is highly possible. Hub pages are seo friendly and get good ranking with little effort.... so shouldn't compromise your account for "illegle quick fixes"
