    Hi,
I dont understand this, maybe you could help me out.
Till yesterday I was connecting to my server using sftp, and today when I tried, a message popped up on winscp saying that my server doesn't support sftp, I contacted them, and the first answer was:
"You must buy SSH service for $19.95 / year"
Was this correct?¿ As far as I was aware, every main account has right to sftp connection, no?
    Can someone please "enlight me"?

    Thanks

    Are you sure?

sftp requires a shell account. Do you mean ftp?

(I mean SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol).)

Sure about what? What do you mean?

My point was that sftp requires a shell account.

This is why your host was asking you for money.

As to why you were able to connect using sftp before.. I have no idea why that would be. Perhaps your host made a mistake and they fixed it. Now you're going to have to pay.
