My hosting provider doesn't allow ApacheModuleGzip.dll

    I've asked the technical support of my hosting tonite (11pm GMT +7) about the possibility to use the file ApacheModuleGzip.dll which decrease the bandwith for all html download on an Apache server. And they answer exactly this :

    :eek: :eek: :eek:

    I still didn't answer but i want to have advices from you guys first. I don't want to loose this fight and answer stupidily. It would be great for any advices from expert. Thanks people!!:eek:

    do DLL's run in the *NIX even? There is no fight, if they dont support it, there is little you can do other than move hosts.

    Do you have any idea of host that can provide the support of "ApacheModuleGzip.dll" ? :( phew thats bad news....

    Why dont you ask them if they support that process opposed to the actual file or progam itself. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

    DLL = Dynamic Link Library, which is a windows function, not part of *NIX

    Oh. My bad, what is NIX in fact, i really dont understand. It is a file or another method like DLL ? thanks man :)

    Just ask them. You should worry about the process, not how they do it. They most likely have it setup for you already.
