my host is in Canada and recieve good results from searches from Canada, but I want to get better results in .com rankings. What can I do? I can't change ( or don't want to change my host )? any tips people?
Just focus on getting more links from US based sites. Changing hosts may help, but probably not much.
If you want to do everything right I would suggest you to change host. It's not that expensive. As another step, you can try the geo targeting feature in Google Webmaster Tools However... to be honest I don't see any difference using it.
unless you have a .ca domain, it doesn't matter whether you host your domain in US or Canada. where you get your links and from where people visit your site is what matters
I also would have recommended the geo targeting in google webmaster tools although I personally do not use it. Other than that to be honest, I'm not really sure.
Yea, TLD Plays very Good Role GEO Target setting in Google webmaster Acccount. Strong Back links From targeted country. Eric
my tld is .com , but once again I just put facts here that I recieve 80% of my hits from google.ca. I don't have any links from canada sites, all my linkbacks are from, US, UK, etc...
One would logically think that it doesn't but indeed it does as GULLIVER has discovered with his own site being delivered mainly to a Canadian audience. I use hostgator which is based out of Texas. Your host doesnt make any difference, or is there something I am missing. I would check to see where your links are!
