I have a website weedguru.com which has been hosted for 6 years by these fiends. They organize my domain fee as well as my hosting. My site went down a week back. All access gone. All access to the hsphere control panel gone. The solidinternet homepage says 'closed for scheduled maintenance'. (solidinternet.com) I am worried. As they assured me that I need not take backups, over this last year, as the r1soft routine took daily backups and stored them somewhere for access if required. Not like the old cpanel from where I could easily download a complete back up of the site. Part of my site, was a set of forums, which are very popular. I was about to go into business with a developer, and the future looked bright. But now...I have zero access to my site or its backups. The Solid internet phone number is 'mailbox full'. Emails sent to their sales department, are bounced back. The current situation seems terribly bleak. All i can think of is sending a plea, for them to make a copy of my website, which would fit on a DVD i am sure, and send it to me in the post. Does anyone know anything about this situation??? Or can offer any advice??? Please!!
I read this thread and everything I shall say is that you found yourself in a very bad situation. If you don't have your own backups (Something you must not miss to have) the only thing to do is to find/contact these guys and to ask them for a back up. I would even pay additional fees (no matter if they are owned or not) only to get my files back. Sorry to see you in such a trouble!
They're hosted off of Softlayer. Why not try contacting them and see if they can intervene? Please remember that they don;t have to but be sure to mention that solidinternet is currently unreachable. http://softlayer.com/
Thankyou for the responses. I DO have the EPP code...so assume I can transfer the domain...so my biggest problem now, by far, is retrieving the site. SO...solid internet are hosted VIA softlayer??? And soft layer may be able to help??? I will write to them today. any more assistance is greatly appreciated. cheers.
I spoke with softlayer, who not only told me that they couldnt do anything as the servers were 'owned' by the client, SI, and i was a customer of SI, not softlayer...but also...that as far as they could tell SI was still their customer, and their servers were still alive and in use. What does this suggest???
if any thing is not working for you..............then you can go to wayback machine and there you can find your web pages.................so you have to work hard to retrieve your web pages again from wayback machine..........
IMO,its your friend who did not pay the bill for the hosting. That why the data center say the server still alive but you cannot access to your cpanel.
Begging for backups is the only option, even if they charge you, it would still be worth all of your time spent on your website.
Your opinion is nonsense...this has nothing to do with non payment of hosting fees. and everything to do with the host company fucking up...I have a receipt for hosting services until august 2010...
I dont understand why the html part of my site is working fine, yet the phpbb and sql databases are missing... http://www.weedguru.com/ all the front end works fine and dandy. yet http://www.weedguru.com/forum/index.php gives just a blank screen. I have kept trying to contact SI, but not joy as of yet. at least the emails arent getting bounced back to me...they must be partly alive still, but what is happening? and what does the blank screen for the forum mean??
