    Hi,

I have a site very visible in google SE but yesterday i found out that my site disappeared when searching in google and i was shocked that 855 pages of my site reported as 403 errors in webmaster tools when in fact all pages reported are works fine. I just dont know what happened. What I remember is I banned 1 ip address to access in my site.

Is this the reason why I got lots of 403 errors?
How to prevent this to happen?
How to clean the reports in webmaster tools?

Please i need your help. thanks

    I'd suggest to
    1. check if your domain name hasn't expired.
    3. ask your host if they block Googlebot. I saw this done by some hosts who complained that googlebot was using up too much traffic.

    1. my site will expire next year
    2. i already ask the host and they said they did not block googlebot

What i dont know is why google detected it as 403 error (forbidden) when all the pages reported are all fine

Check to see what headers your site is returning with a header checker tool http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/http-headers-viewer.html

If it comes up with 403 error then ask your hosts to check if you don't know what else to do or maybe unban the ip address you banned and check again to see if that is causing the problem

You get a 403 error when you disallow an IP from a .htaccess file for example. Something is not right there.

Do you have access to your detailed logs/stats?
If your hosted on a static IP, try changing it.

Some hosts used to return 401s as 403s--do you have login/register pages popping up?

I'd check the site using a different IP and ISP, maybe through a proxy or distant friend using a plain vanilla IE6 or 7.

    Good luck.
