Thought I'd share a few pics from my recent trip. For those thinking about doing the Great Ocean Road trip Melbourne I can highly recommend. Fantastic coast line and beautiful beaches. We do live in a beautiful country !
Isn't that the 12 apostles? When we go up to the beach house in Philip Island, we go the Great Ocean Road way. So much more to see and although it takes a bit longer, the drive is more enjoyable that way. Nice picture btw
This is the beauty of the world.... It would be amazing to go there with a group of friends. Hopefully will go there one day
You must go I'd love to do it all again, especially now I have my fav towns, Lorne is just beautiful, will arrange next time for accomadation there.
I went there back in 2005, beautiful place. Had a fabulous resort in the mountains of Lorne where the parrots would come up and eat off your balcony/hand. For the most part it was cold, rainy and you had an open fire. Just wonderful.
Fantastic place isn't it ??? The weather was somewhat windy and not too warm, which I'd prefer, the heat just zaps my energy.
I loved the weather when we were there...rainy in the morning, sunny in the afternoon. We kinda rushed it though, stayed only in Lorne and Apollo bay and spent no time at the beach (just the mountains) "12" Apostles are pretty bloody awesome though.
I wish we had of booked acommadation for Lorne but left it too late and nothing was available. Next time will know better
Lorne and Apollo Bay are getting more crowded every year - it's turning into a mini Surfers Paradise. I try and get down to Separation Creek every year, it's one of the few places on the Great Ocean Road that is relatively unspoilt by the BMW/Merc SUV crowd. I guess it's too far away from an espresso machine for most people Where did you end up staying? **** See any paragliders while you were there? They're nearly as much fun to watch as the eagles. I took these snaps out the car window last time I was down there:
there are so many amazing locations to visit a lifetime wouldn't be enough to see all of them thanks for the tip
Great pictures Kerosene no we didn't see any paragliders We stayed Geelong, Apollo Bay, Port Campbell and Melb Centre. Next time we go (and we are hoping to go again maybe next year) we have our fav places picked out. I tell you what though, some of the tourists have no idea on road safety. Few spots we stopped to see Koalas in their natural habitat and people were all over the road, including children, no idea that most are main roads and they could be run over, but they had no care in the world, I'm sure the locals get rather peeeed, I know I would.
