It's good to have both short term and longer term sites. Long term sites would be those targetting very competitive keywords - like 'hosting' or 'web hosting'. But along side these, there's no reason not to target short term keywords - after all, you've got to keep yourself busy and not everyone is capable of remaining focused on a long term target.
That's a fallacy. Everyone will tell you that but it simply isn't true. Doing a website on whatever happens to interest you and then hoping it will make money isn't a way to run a business. Many businesses produce boring products that the owners have no interest in. What they do have an interest in is building the business (or site) and making it profitable. You will need to do that for any business/site whether you are interested in the content or not.
Write pages about you know. About you love. And, very important: Do not put all on page. There must be a space for ads clicking.
Making $200 a day with Adsense isn't unrealistic at all. There are people making much more than that. If you are making $50 a day it isn't that hard to get to $200. By the time you are making $50 you know what works and you need to repeat it 4 more times. It probably won't take as long as the first $50 either because you won't waste time making the mistakes you made trying to get to $50 a day. It might also help to break the goals down into smaller chunks. If you are making $25 a day, try to double it. When you get to $50 double that... and so on.
My site has run AS for over a year. I made enough to receive a cheque the first month and have been coasting along quite happily. I stayed fairly steady in all that time making about minimum wage (as I believe I said before in another thread Since using the principles introduced in Critters valuable thread, my CTR and rewards have jumped up. I am not there myself yet, but I would say $200 a day is definately doable and I can see myself there in the not too distant future. I have been making changes slowly. I am concerned that Googs would raise a red flag if my CTR suddenly went through the roof but every time I introduce Crits principles to a new page, I see the results the next morning. Kasparov, I
my target is to make $53.3 a day. I did some tweaking and trebled my CTR in the last week Tweak, change things - see what works
If you have 200K visitors a day, why would you bother to place Google's ads onto your website? I think having such traffic wouldn't make much difference to your financial situation. You would be rich anyway by selling your products!
I don't sell a product I provide free services (drawing online, personality tests, games) And even if I did sell a product and was "rich anyway" why not put ads on and be even more rich
selling anything comes with lotsa headaches. having cpm and cpc ads is a good alternative/addition to that.
My target is $50 a day I'll post my progress when I get paid, but lets just say I have a lot of work to do Josh
That seems a bit much: (300,000 page views * 0.02 ctr) * 0.25 per click = $1500 per day (nice work if you can get it Here are a few rough calculations: (10,000 page views * 0.02 ctr) * 0.25 per click = $50 per day (40,000 page views * 0.02 ctr) * 0.25 per click = $200 per day (target) (40,000 page views * 0.01 ctr) * 0.40 per click = $160 per day (40,000 page views * 0.02 ctr) * 0.40 per click = $320 per day These are fairly low numbers for ctr and per click. Better to underestimate I guess.
Well these figures are a bit to high estimated if you ask me. The average amount of a pay per click is between the 5 to 10 cents. According to your figures i would be making more money then i am at the moment. Believe me i aint. I got twice as much traffic and i earn twice as less.
I really don't see a need for 200,000 to 300,000 visitors to make $200 a day in adsense, or even $1000 a day, unless they are not targeted whatsoever. Given critters traffic (personality tests etc.), this is probably the case. Anyhow, you can earn $200 adsense with 10,000 impressions if the visitors are targeted and the ads are for a semi high paying market. Generally, it is farily easy to achieve at least a 5% CTR, and in most cases, a much higher CTR is achievable, at least in my experiences. Also, when spanning multiple markets, some high paying, some low paying, a good estimate for eCPC is around 0.50. Yes, I know it varies, I am just using rounded numbers that are close to what I have personally experienced. These averages are based on about a years worth of data. Of course some markets pay a lot more then others, though they generally get less traffic due to competition or lack of interested parties. So using these numbers let's take another look. 10,000 impressions X 0.05 X average of $0.5 = $250 a day 250,00 impressions X 0.05 X average of $0.5 = $6250 a day I wouldn't expect to make that much unless your visitors are targeted however, and the markets you cover are diverse. Just my two cents -Ryan
everything of that depend on industry. I had about 200 unique visitors and maybe x2 or x3 page views, yet around 20-30$. 500page views = 25$ (i didn`t went to schools and university, for almost 20 years, to get 5c/click on my pages) head on, and try to make good spots to work on. web is abnormally big. heh Finding a good theme is most imortant part of earning big money.
more sophisticated pages more cost per click. That is point of message. Use best you know to write pages. If your pages is about usual things 0.05c is ok. I hope that most people understand that way. I didn`t try to offend anyone. Sorry if sound like that. Finally, I wrote in foreign language.
Yesterday, I made $199.27 Damn, I missed that mark with a few cents. However, it took me around 18 months to get there. I have a target of $500 till the end of this year
