My goal = $4k/month...possible strategies....???

Regarding your back pain concept, as far as I am aware most medical / health related issues are dominated by 3 or 4 major players. Certainly possible to rank well for this, do your research and find out the feasibility of it on your budget.

More important, how would you make a 4k / month income from such a site?

 

What more difficult is keep making 4K a month.

 

Actually, my thoughts weren't to make the full $4k/month from just one site. I was thinking that this could be done with from anywhere up to 5 sites. If I could do $10/day from my back pain site, I'd be happy. I think the money would come from adsense and some affiliates....is this a realistic goal for a new site in the back pain niche?

Yah, 3 years if you are just starting out.

 

I have similar dreams and aspirations, not sure how realistic they are. To echo a lot of the comments made previously, it's slow and steady work over a long period of time that will ultimately get you there.

As a starting point, I would be inclined to pick a niche where you have some reasonable domain expertise and study the heck out of it as far as what web sites are in that market and where you might be able to open up an angle.

Also, I think you need to be flexible and willing to build a good number of sites when you're starting out to see what works for you. Kill or put the laggards on auto pilot and focus on growing the ones that show promise.

 

Think out of the box.

Income can be gained with traffic and conversion for unlimited monetization ideas or strategies. Think about the key skills needed.... TRAFFIC and CONVERSION. Study it.

Next, build so that you create equity in your business. Think in terms of building a site that can be sold in the future. Develop your own product, or develop the marketing for someone else's products where you own the site and marketing funnel.

Set goals and make $100 first, then $1000. Study daily, learn and duplicate your successes.

Think BIG because $4K per month is thinking small. You will limit your income if you limit your thinking. You will become what you think.
