For a forum to do well it needs a focus. Mine however, lacks focus and is pretty random at the best of times. After the last update it went from 1, to 0, and then up to PR3. for reference, here is my URL: http://www.noddegamra.co.uk/forum/ My forum isn't particularily popular. There aren't hundreds of members and it's quite poorly optimised (it's very hard to properly optimise a forum without doing too much work). So why the good PR? I know it's not excellent PR, but I still think it's pretty damn good for a pretty much "unknown" forum. It's been PR3 for a couple of months now so it doesn't look to be a glitch. Are there any good free sites or tools which will show me the backlinks with PR and link text information? I have Google Analytics but it doesn't give me all the info I need.
Fortunately there are some tools for this : http://www.backlinkwatch.com/ http://www.iwebtool.com/backlink_checker
Thanks for the tools links. It appears I have loads of backlinks, although many are form the same URLs and with 0 PR.. lol :/ its quite confusing.
PR is to do with lots of high quality back links. Sign up to google webmasters tools, this will show you external and internal links to your website.
