Well, my blog (sig link, design inspiration) has been up for about a week now. I've been adding content like crazy as much as I can, and as best quality as I can, and it seems like it's REALLY paying off. I've been doing social bookmarking, social networking, and DoFollow blog commenting (on high PR sites, and no PR sites). I installed Google Analytics 4 days ago and I must say the unique visitors for the past 4 days has been insane, at least I think it is. Yesterday (Christmas) was my best day of all time. It went from 20 unique visitors the day prior to over 400! Let's see what I can get for today. Is this a lot of UVs for a new site? This is all legitimate traffic too, no traffic exchange programs or anything. Also, I've been doing forum posting obviously and submitting the one tutorial I wrote on the blog to various tutorial sites. Do you think this is decent for a brand new blog? My Alexa rank went from 18,000,000-some to 6,000,000-some in 1 day. Hopefully with the backlinks I've been getting, I'll have some PR in the next update. EDIT: I'd also like to note that the domain name was never registered before (that I know of) and the site was not indexed in Google prior to me launching this blog. It's already got 14 pages indexed in Google, now it's time to check my SERPs.
Nice looking site. I would definitely say you're doing well to have such a huge jump in visitors that quick. Are they coming from the search engines or just from the blogs and forums you're commenting on? Also, what WP theme is that? I like it a lot.
On my GA it says it is all coming from direct traffic and referring sites, no SE traffic yet but hopefully with my link building I'll be up there soon on the front page for 'design inspiration' and that will probably bring in a lot of traffic. Here's a screenshot: And so far, AdSense that I put only on the single post pages last night got me 1 cent. Most of the traffic is coming from a tutorial site that I submitted the tutorial I wrote on, but a lot is coming from forums and random blogs that I commented on. I always post very high quality comments so the backlink is a sure thing. EDIT: Oh, the WP theme is from the Elegant Themes premium theme club.
