My forum with 15K members for your high traffic site

Hi everyone,

I purchased a forum a couple months ago now, thinking I would be quite devoted, etc. Well, turns out I'm not

I do not have official analytics for the site, though I know that it is getting approximately 2k+ posts per day, and it has over 15K members (ALL VERIFIED, NONE PAID). It gets between 25-100 new sign ups daily. Traffic has decreased though from where it once was (the old owner told me), but if you use the forum script's mailer to advertise the site to the members you will have no trouble building traffic back up.

I have tried out a couple "free trial" affiliate offers on the site. The best one seems to be Bidverse which made approximately $60 in a month, though the banner wasnt actually up for the full month while I tried one different affiliate. I can show a screenshot to a serious potential buyer.

I am interested in selling the site, or potentially trading the site for a different site (NOT FORUM) with similar revenue, or at least 150K UV/month. The way I see it, the 15K verified member email list alone, at $0.05 per email, is worth $750... never mind the assumed consistent $60/month ($720/year) in revenue, without even sending a sending email to the members.

Yeah, I bought it from the last owner thinking I would have time this term, but I am now taking different classes than I originally thought and literally only look at it once or twice a week.

Members keep growing daily, posts are adding up, and everything works fine.

Also, the site was never sold to the member who posted SOLD in that thread. I ended up purchasing from that buyer a bit after that post expired, for a higher price. The forum has over 2.5K more members then it did then

Buying and selling warez forums is against the rules of DP.. I don't understand why they allowed to sell the forum. Please contact the mods to delete your thread.

 

Oh, I am sorry, I did not know it was against the rules (especially since I bought the forum from someone on DP).

It's a dead forum that is overrun by spam bots and the seller is passing off the spam as "new posts".

 

I would need to disagree with that to some extent. Yes, there are some bots, though most of the "spam" bots accounts have been removed. The bots still exist are used to post links and related information to what the thread it about. I would argue that as long as it is relevant, this kind of bot merely helps the forum. The more posts with links, the more that can come up in search engines, the more users you have coming to your site.

Its not all bots though. Alexa still has a relatively low number for this site, and it would not know of any bot visits - only real human visitors with the alexa toolbar installed.

Interested buyers are welcome to take a look around for themselves. You will see that the important topics have been pruned (by me) to remove most of the spam. There may still be a little left over in the "not-as-important" topics...
