    recently took it down, restarting it,

    anyway...I am open to suggestions, but does an off topic forum really work...or what about making alot of specific sub forums on particular niches?

    Thats what they call an off-topic forum, more or less. ;)

    If you have the knowledge and the resources to complete against the bigger off-topic forums, then I would say go ahead.
