My first WP Template, feedback please :)

Ive been learning a lot of WP/CSS stuff this week as I'm pretty much completely new to it I thought i'd ask you all what you thought of the design so far It's taken me from Sunday till this post to get in a decent aesthetic shape - advice on where to go next in terms of creating more templates and releasing them would be really appreciated as I have the design part in me, just not quite the coding side.

Improvements still to come, and ideas are welcome!

ahh it screws up in IE

 

Yes..Work fine for FF..But IE give you bad news..

 

Nice header, and navigation.

Only thing i do not like is the large "menu" and "search", it's just not to my taste

 

Well it validates nicely and first impressions aren't bad. However i'd agree with Redders about the Menu and Search text... Its not to my taste either.

Other than that its fine really, except the gradient in the header looks a bit flat and dull.

 

I think it looks pretty nice! I would definitely consider using it if I was starting a new blog. Good work!

thanks for the positive comments I will definitely be making more in the coming weeks, as I do want to release my own theme before Christmas - If anyone can tell me why it screws up a bit in IE i'd be very grateful.

Im sure I can find a different use for the menu/search text in future

 

bad news for you through IE not showing completely the text are not visible

 

yeah, I noted that when I tested it too bad i don't know enough about CSS yet to fix it

 

I wouldn't blame not knowing CSS - I'd blame a god-awful browser.

 

Yeh, I'd been having troubles with IE for months.. It freaks me out.. Every design I made, I had to code a 2nd round for IE..

Works well on IE7. Great job you've done so far.

 

Personally i've never had to code anything IE specific, my designs just work.

 

looks great man, especially for a first design, i'm quite impressed.
