My first week in clickbank. $204.62

I have been using adwords for a while to promote my own sites and decided to give clickbank a try.

My first week has gone OK.

    I made $204.62 revenue.

The only downside is that I only profited: ~$25.00

Dont get me wrong an extra hundred bucks a month isnt bad but I feel like the returns could be much better if I continue to optimize my ads.

My advice to those wanting to start is to not worry about losing a bit of money. You can think of it as paying for education. It takes money to experiment on which ads work and which dont.

For me, most of my adwords budget went into 5 campaigns. Nearly all these campaigns didnt work out well for me except for 2.

The other 3 campaigns I ditched (paused) and will come back to them after reoptimizing the ads and after I make a landing page for it.

So yea... the main thing about clickbanks is knowing how to use adwords. You need to focus on A-B testing your Ads to see which converts the best / best click through rate.

Additionally there are some tips found on this forum that actually do increase your click through rate a considerable amount. The higher your percentage, the lower the cost. :)

Well, anywho good luck to all those who begin using clickbanks as I have. :)

Sounds like you know where its at..
Alot of people are afraid of loosing that bit of money at the start.. after they loose $100 or so they give up rather then changing ads/ landing pages and deleting keywords

Congrats! That's really not bad at all for a first week...
Imagine what you can setup and earn in a couple of months from now ;)

And you're absolutely right: it's all about testing and optimizing.
A lot of new affiliates underestimate this process, but it usually makes the difference between a failing and profitable campaign.

Good luck and have some fun :)!

Great work on making a few sales! It's definitely empowering to know the system can work for you - and can definitely work even better once you optimize/modify your methods even more!

Additionally, generating future income gets easier and easier the more you know and learn! It gradually leads up to solid success, and a consistent income. Great work, keep it up, and let us know!

Your lucky you made profit. I lost $61 and not a single convert. One mistake was mine, the other was actually the merchants, I think he was giving free ebooks by mistake, people were able to download them without paying first. Ugh $25 gone on that site alone. Lost like $30 on a huge game download site, was told that most of the traffic is teens without credit card looking for freebies. Still have campaigns on other markets but only getting like 2 clicks a day and no converts. The gaming site gets tons of clicks but no converts. I think im gonna just make my own site, promote my own product and advertise my own site. Will also let others promote my site :)

That's the better of testing clickbank products. In every pages of your sites put a product similar to Google adsense that display clickbank products. We don't know our visitors to always create something useful in every pages. Create a teaser. A small product that will lead to a premium one.

That's not bad at all! I think everything is a risk, and some times you gotta lose some to win bigger.

    Just an update:

This last week has been even better!!! My adwords experience has really been paying off. I've been skyrocketing my profits to the point of nearly $100 per day. :)

You have to be willing to lose money to learn which will make you money.

This weekend alone I've made nearly $600. :D I have to give God the glory because most of the campaign ideas came through prayer.

Congrats on the first week. But, why just stop with adwords? Why not create your own content site, get visitors, build confidence and then get them on to the affiliate pages? Might take more time, but would be much more rewarding in the long run. How about a blog atleast?

    Stan.

Thanks for the tip Stan. Funny you mention, I've already begun plans to make a few sites in the niches that seem to really work well for me. :)

My dad knows a guy who has over 100 websites that did this type of marketing making usually around $5,000 a day (net profit) from affiliate/adsense commission. Unfortunately that man has passed away but we did get to learn many of his methods to making these type of sites.

    I'll keep you all updated!
