Hello! I've created a long article about Intel's and AMD's plans for 2007. Its posted here: http://computertechlog.blogspot.com. This is the resource I used to create the article: http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9006938&pageNumber=1 I need feedback on this article. Is it legal to take so much information from a webpage without a link to the resource? Is it legal at all? How Do I make the articles at the frontpage show the first (for example) 100 words, then shows a more.. link that leads to the full article? At my blogger it shows the full article at the frontpage, and I dont want that. EDIT: Have to mention that I dont like blogger.com's posting system. I wrote an article on word, and when I pasted it in to bloggers "post box" the article looked like hell. When I fixed it the way I wanted it to be, I wanted to change a headline, and all the headlines under intel changed size. Hard to explain but its wierd! Regards, Kalle
I don't understand why anyone would us Blogger over Wordpress but obviously that's your stick As for the article, got to be honest and say that I didn't read all of it. I read the first 3-4 paragraphs since I'm not interested in reading about PC's etc. That's nothing against you or your writing of course! But just a couple of things: - Maybe spell/grammar check things before you post them - When I first read the beginning of the post, I felt a bit talked down to. Like you were leading me like a child explaining exactly what was going to happen. Maybe make that shorter and snappier? I liked the way you invited them to take a drink and stuff though. It made it sound friendly and inviting and like you were willing to share something of yours with the reader. Like you wanted them to enjoy what you'd wrote. Of course these are just opinions and they're subjective. Someone else might feel completely differently. I'd also try to remember that it's your first attempt and it will not be perfect. That's why you add more and more entries, to practice and get better as well as bringing news and views to your readers. Good luck!
Oh, and whilst I think about it, if you're going to heavily base what you write on another article, you could always simply link to the article and give your opinions on it. That is, if you know enough about the subject, of course Just another thought, I really don't want to make it sound like I know everything.
Thanks for the feedback! Well I know this article was a bit heavy, especially for someone that arnnt interested in computers And I dont take your criticism personal, I like it. Because it can make me better. But about linking to my resource, do you mean that I shouldn't link if I havn't written a good enough article with bad information because if the visitors doesnt know about the original, they doesn't know how bad the article is, or what did you mean? Regards, Kalle
after reading this "Sit back and relax, grab your snacks and a glass of coke while I tell you about Intel’s and AMD’s plans of 2007. This is a very long article witch covers very much information, so you might have to get the whole coke bottle to your computer, because this will take some time. " i don't want to read anymore...whole paragraph without single piece of useful information..who has the time for that.. also, nothing is original..you just simply rewrite the computerworld article...
I just mean that if you're basically just going to re-create another person's article and not add anything of your own, what is the point? Instead of rewriting someone else's article, you add something to it by simply quoting the article and saying what you agree/disagree with and why.
My opinion.. get a template to make it look more professional. Google 'Peek a boo posts beautiful beta' to get the solution for post excerpts that lead to the full post ..
Hehe. Well I didnt really understand what kind of template autorave ment. Because everyone is using a template, and he/she said it looks more professional with a template. So that might be another kind of template. Thats why I asked
