Ok with all you experts around here I thought I would come and ask your opinions of my VERY first designed site. Please be gentle, I picked this up and self taught myself in about 2 days with Dreamweaver. I still have A LOT of work to do and learn but would appreciate any comments. My First Real Estate Site Thank you in Advance!
Hey Congratulations on your first site! Good job too given that. I agree that the orange is a little harsh. Another thing you may want to do is tighten up that top bar. IMO there's too much empty space at the top. You may want to try integrating the information and picture into something more cohesive and flowing. Also the photo is pretty low res, so either make it smaller or get a new one. I like the navigation on the left. One of the links on the top has an extra "|" Good luck!
Is this website designed for getting the attention of prospective sellers or buyers of real estate? I'm asking because I myself look for houses (to buy) on the internet, and I don't find it easy to get to see all the properties you might have that could interest me. If, on the other hand, I was looking to sell my house, then this structure might fit better... depending on the supplie and demand in the market.
The orange makes it a little hard to read. I know you are learning, but you might want to read up on linking a stylesheet for your css.
Wow Orangeness... Nice site though. Maybe you could just make it a little bit neater though. It's abit all over the place. The seven Hills picture at the top could be centered. but it is miles better than anything I could ever produce, so thumbs up!
Waaaay too much orange, lol I think you already know that though from like the last 5 posts. It would also be nice if the header image were clearer, it looks kinda blurry to be a focal point on the site.
Have a look at your site with different screen sizes, look tidy @ 800 x 600 but when the screen size gets bigger........! Just a point of interest, fees in Cornwall uk are about 1 - 1.7%!
The listing fees content (I didn't look at other pages) needs some polish. For example, "This will be explanatory in our listing fee presentation." There are several other problems like that. I would find it easier to read if there was more contrast between the link color and the background color.
Looks great for a first design! But, it definately pays off to hire a professional to design a site for something like this.
Yes this site is for sellers not really buyers. This is why I have all the information about marketing plan and listing fees. There are still a few things I need to add for content but I am waiting to get the data. Thank you for the kind words by the way, it means a lot to me to know that a real seller would use the site.
Thank you all for the comments. As stated this is my very first design, so I know I have a lot of work to do. As for the colors..ORANGE..lol..I liked it but I guess I need to really consider what the average consumer is going to be pleased with. I appreciate pointing out some of the typo mistakes on the site. I still have work left to be done on it but since I have created 3 other sites and jumped to them without polishing this one first. I am trying to learn as much as I can and as fast as I can. I am a full time Realtor so I have to work on these as I have time. Thank you again one and all for the comments, please feel free to share any other ideas or comments you may have.
The blue font on that organge does not work well with me. the black on the orange is not that great either. conclusion...ditch the orange lol.
Nice start ... you should of seen my first attempt, I looked it up on the way back machine and laffed my arse off. Ditch the orange, and keep playin around.. its taken me 3 yrs to get a site design I like
I think maybe I should ditch the orange..lol What about PINK..hehehe. I know I need to do some work with colors. I have a great color scheme that someone else did I could probably use as a template. It is really nicely done.
My personal choice would be light blue, of course the text color would then have to be changed. Anybody else agree?
Get rid of the 7 hills picture/logo. It look blurry and unprofessonal. Try taking a sharper picture or something.
Not bad for a first site attempt! I noticed your other sites look far more professional... did you do them??? If so, I would apply some of the same style ideas to your first site... ...And I won't mention the orange....lol
