My first month with adsense

i made less than USD10 in my first year....
Billion Thank to info in DP forums,
i made several changes to my web site and apply some traffic building tips that from you guys and boom my revenue keep increasing in last 3 months.

October 2003 first month was $44.83

 

Feb 2005 - First month $118 - thanks to my mesothelioma blog...

 

September 2004.... 2,33$ for whole 30 days.... now it's enough to pay a rent

 

Yea I remember when i said that adsense was crap but now it is my best friend.

Nice to see that people are enjoying the revenue of adsense

Once you clear the $10 mark, things become much easier.

 

JS - was this jump in revenue a result of more traffic or different ad placement?

 

It depends very much on the topic of the site......clicks on a site average 26 cents...on another 3 cents....so reaching a certain target can differ

 

When I first signed up I placed the ads on one section of my site. I forgot all about the ads until one confused morning two months later I got a cheque in the mail from G for $300. I thought WTF is this for? LOL

So naturally I placed the ads throughtout the site, stopped selling subscriptions and made the site free instead. I am not living on it but it's paying my mortage. I'm happy about the income but the perspective is that on the eve of the dotcom meltdown I quit my day job to become a dot.millionaire with that site. LOL

Now I am trying to launch a site a week. I just launched 6 local interest sites for the Sunshine Coast of BC. These are brand new sites and don't have ads on them yet.

But after reading Critters posts I am trying to think "Funny"

 

It is many factors. I began building the info pages (small, contant rich pages centered around hihg paying keywords) in the seocnd month, which boosted my revenue a lot. When I started out I only had 2 sites. By the end of the seocnd month I had eight sites, most of them small sites.

I also tweaked my ad placement as well since when I first strated adsense I would simply copy paste the default ads, but now I modify them to suit my page.

My traffic has remined the same. I find it costs more to drive more traffic to an existing site than it costs to simply build another site. So once I can get a consistant 30-100 visitors a day to a site, I stop and build another site.

Also, I hyperlink all these sites together which is good for PR and SEO.
