My first month with Adsense and happy with my earnings

I think this is a generalization because it really depends on the industry.. for example anything to do with back to school right now like laptops, books, etc. is in high CPC range, but travel keywords CPC is down since the summer vacation time has ended.

 

Nice start......my first was $18.50 but I spent so much time posting on forums then I stopped posting and was wondering why I was not making money any more......then I started to get into seo

 

I think that's a good start for your first adsense site. Remember to make as much of it as you can automatic, and that way you can concentrate on building multiple sites that earn equal to or more than the site you started with. Multiplication is the biggest factor in earning a substantial amount of adsense revenue.

Concentrate also on testing ad layout and article content positioning and color schemes to help increase the CTR.

Posting in forums and marketing through MySpace was a great way for me to get my site out there.

Then, when I started getting ranked in Google for various keywords, then the traffic doubled. I started focusing more on getting Google traffic now.

I should probably do forum marketing and MySpace marketing again as well to see if it'll double the traffic.

You decide! It is all about what you want and howmuch efforts you are willing to put in.

IMO if it is a new site and you hope to increase the traffic many times in coming months, it is fine.

 

not as bad as mine I think... my first month in December 2004, I made $2.43!

 

Not a bad start at all... the main thing you want to work on is growing your site and traffic... the money will come after that...

You mentioned that your site is an article directory. Well, the more unique content the better. Here are three fairly easy things to do to promote your directory, (1) link to the pages in the directory from social sites, (2) link to your directory by publishing articles (new, non-duplicate content) to sites such as ezinearticles, (3) publish as RSS feed to the 80 plus RSS feed directories.

Your CTR seems very low. is it a forum ?

 

No it is an article directory

 

that great. target 100$ a day in the next 12 months I saw someone who earns like that. but saw a $100,000 from someone I don't know if it is true

 

$100 going to take some time for me to reach i don't know abt $1,00,000 but i know someone who earns $1500 daily

 

$1500 daily? Outstanding. If i could get even $15 daily, i would be so happy.

 

I think when you first signup with Adsense they display all of the high paying ads on your site then later on cut them out. When I first signed up with adsense I had ads paying $1 - $5 dollars per click and now I only get $0.05 type ads. I would get 50 clicks in one day for $3 dollars.
