Hello, well this is my first ever website, realbonsaigarden.com
I built it in coffecup visual designer, I just downloaded komposer, but need to do a little learning on that, but I think it will be better in the long run. Anyway, maybe some of you could check out my website and offer some comments. Thanks!

I've got a few suggestions to improve your site:

    1. Your title tag needs work. A more descriptive title will help search engines understand what your site is about.
    2. You're missing the other meta tags (keywords, description, character set encoding, etc).
    3. I'd put your CSS style information in a separate file and link it via the head section. This makes updating pages a lot easier.
    4. The image at the top of the page should be resampled to the final resolution you're going to display it at. Right now the image is a lot larger than the display size, which is a waste of bandwidth and causes the page to take longer to load.
    5. I'm assuming this is just a starting point for your site; more information would be great. The best way to increase a site's popularity is to provide regular updates to the content. More info is better.
    6. You should always make sure your pages validate using the W3C HTML validator. Here are your site's results.

    Good luck!

The header image is 337KB. A lot of Internet users are still on a slow connection, and it will take a while for it to load on their screen. For image editing, you can always use a free image editor like The Gimp or online editors like Picnik.com. I took the liberty to cut it down a bit, adjust the highlight / shadows and added a little bit of saturation: Click here to download it. I cut it down to 640 x 385px and a filesize of 67KB. Not a work of art, but at least your website will load sooner. Not a bad start at all, either way! I can't remember how my first website looked, but I'm pretty sure it was absolutely horrible compared to yours :)

Your site look reasonable. The bonzai tree in banner on top looks a bit squashed.

First websites are a kind of experience because you learn a lot from the process.

Congratulations this is good looking at the fact this is your first site.
In fact there is lot of scope for improvement.
One more thing I would like to say you that the same subject I had in my mind in 2002, I think this will click.
    Best luck.

Its a good website for your first one i agree with the others, but there is work that could be done.

;Editing the header maybe, or maybe make a contest on the forums for a banner to be made.
;Add meta keywords etc which will help you get much better search engine results.
;Maybe if you have the skills give your site a bit more flavor a bit more colour.

But yeah not bad for your first site.
