My first e-book, and I'm lost

Ok, so I am writing my first ebook. I am about 50% done (I've just been using ms word). Now that I am getting close to the end, I realize I have no idea what to do next. Here is what I don't know how to do.

How to deliver the book from my site using paypal or google checkout. I don't know if there is scripting for this that I will need to use, or a third party system?

How to design a cover (I'm assuming photoshop), are there any good free cover creators out there?

How to market the book elsewhere. What is the best way to have affiliates sell my book for a portion of the selling price?

Normally I am pretty good at finding this type of info, but everything I search for is full of ads, or trying to sell me an ebook. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

there are several options for delivery. ejunkie is great and pretty reasonable priced, then there is dlguard which is damn good too, and then there is rapbank and this is my top choice. of course there is always clickbank i don't like them for multiple reasons.

for the e-cover you can check this site out : http://www.myecovermaker.com/ they are going to ask you to sign up but look around the page because there is a free option. If you don't like their free options, you could pay, but i would just as soon outsource the job.

how to market... oh man that is a big question. start by building a list and try to turn some of your buyers in to affiliates. you can contact other sites in the niche and see if they want to promote you. If you already have a list start looking for JVs. You can also contact people that already have list and see if they would be willing to run solo adds for (costs money) and then push your traffic to a squeeze page so you can build your list, then do JVs, then convert to affiliates, etc..

As far as how to have your affilates sell your product my #1 choice would be rapbank. RAP is the best hands down. Of course there is clickbank too, but i strongly urge you to check rapbank out.

For the ecover I use box shot 3d. It is a one time fee of 60 bucks but I use it over and over again.
You can see some examples on my site at:
    dancestudioprofit .com
    crushingitonline .com
    infusionpros .com

(you can find a torrent file if you dont want to pay.. but it is highly worth the 60 bucks)

    Hi,

I just posted a special step-by-step guide that you might find helpful -- and it's free in the War Room of the Warrior Forum. I'll post in the sponsor offers forum too for a few bucks for those who aren't War Room Members.

In a nutshell: Turn ebook into PDF, Set up autoresponder, set up payment system (either PayPal or shopping cart etc.), create sales page and download page, upload it to your server (if you don't have a domain name yet, you'll need that too), and then... send traffic!

If you want to know more, let me know (send PM). I'll be happy to help.

Hi, I used to make my own covers with office.microsoft.com/engb/clipart/default.aspx I haven't been there for a while but it was free and the results were OK.

Marketing it is obviously key. You can have the best book ever but you will not make a dime without good marketing... a good product does help though.

You can get affiliates to market it for you:
Affiliates have promoted my stuff for years but just a couple weeks ago I tried ClickBank for the first time and I was surprised just how many affiliates that network has. In the past I would spent over $100k trying to get affiliates and I would send employees to trade shows to get affiliates because I did everything in house. I never used an affiliate network until just a couple weeks ago with ClickBank. The ClickBank affiliates jumped in and I made a sale within hours of having my ClickBank product approved. I did not even mention the product to anyone. This was purely ClickBank affiliates jumping on it. ClickBank is better for certain products over others though.

So affiliates can be a great way to market if you have a good product and sales page.

    You can market it yourself:
Google is the king here. You need to understand keyword research and how to choose low competition keywords. Choosing the right keywords can make it very easy for you to get some great traffic. If you can find these keywords and if you know some basic seo stuff and if you can build some good backlinks then you can bring in a lot of traffic from low competition keywords to feed your product.

btw. JVs will not even look at you unless if you have numbers to show them. The bigger guys are all about the money. If you can show them you can make $x in y visitors then they will know you are serious and that you have tested your sales page. No one wants to send traffic their traffic to test your sales page. They want to know it has been tested and they want to see the numbers.
