Hi Folks, I just signed up and placed my first digg. Can you give me any feedback on how to get to the first page with something like this. See the description here And the site here Hunting Vermont Thanks for any feedback (And I would appreciate a few diggs from those who think its worthy) Smokey
couple of tips come up with a more eye catching title build a large network of digg friends so you can shout your diggs to them this will from time to time get you to the front page
Thanks Chioceebooks, I am trying to build friends, and read more of the top titles to get an idea of what catchy
THat won't get you to the first page, but something else on your site might. Digg is a news portal, and the top page stories are typically very intersting news type items, not "help support our deer camp" type stuff. But keep making digg friends, I added you to my list. When you make a new post, try to use a catchy newsy headline. Sometimes crap makes it to the front page just because it gets momentum from the crowd. make it an interesting story and shout it to yoru friends. Don't shout too much though only when its itneresting. Also digg lots of other related stories, and shout stories taht are not your own to help add value ot the digg community. For example, Digg this story: http://www.canada.com/theprovince/news/story.html?id=a1a57468-f7b1-47e5-a65d-f10fe5226059&k=54953 Then shout it to your friends, and you will be more respected for intersting newsworthy diggs. Then when you digg one of your own stories, poeple will be more likely to read it.
Thanks SuzanneMarie, I appreciate the advise and adding me as a friend. I dug that story you mentioned, and had actually already posted an excerpt from that story on my site with credit and link to full story. (Although you probably already noticed) The whole social bookmark thing is so new to me it will take a while. THanks again to all the great people on DP who make learning this stuff easier. Smokey99
