It all started here from Sohan's $30 a day topic took me around a day to get it Another two days to implement it. I started it yesterday: http://www.HideMyBack.com now since the morning (EST) i have already made $2 (analytics stat show around 300 impressions). I think I'll just have to create more traffic somehow.. Peace, P.s.: I only emailed the link to around 15K users on one of my forums.
this is a very good script. Infact i'm also planning to run this type of site... can u please tell me some details for the script? if possible.
Hey good luck, Proxy's are a great way to make money, although it is hard to find a host that will support them. Plus they are bandwidth eaters.
congrats, man.. that's great. how can I start my own proxy? I browsed trough proxy.org and their forum but I can't seem to find any instructions? how odd. are there any other proxy sites I can start with? thanks.
Is proxy legal for AdSense? What is the actual pollicy, I've been going under the impression that on the main page its ok, on the proxyed pages its not. Yes?
Visit the link I posted above, download the script, upload it to your website (after editing ofcoruse) and you are done. it is legal if you have it on front page, while browsing the sites it is not (I put my own ads instead). Peace,
warning to those who wants to start a proxy site: - proxy sites can be monetized if run carefully. - most hosts doesn't allow proxy sites. ask before starting. - your site will use a lot of bandwidth and a lot of cpu. - you will often get dos and ddos attacks. - do not put adsense on proxified pages. - please, make a template for your site
I can almost guarantee that with the ad setup I once made for CGIProxy, you'd have a twice as high CTR. It was beautiful. Then I realized my host doesn't allow them and has a bot that goes through and automatically removes the files for it. My personal experience: It uses a lot of CPU usage so a lot of hosts don't allow it. The number of visitors grows exponentially once you get your name out on a few proxy directories. Just make sure your host complies with it in their TOS. Nick
