The site got big from social bookmarking.

That one day was a fluke of sorts, as someone bought 16 ~$400 HDD's. The next few days have been decent, but I'm up to $315 total for 3days.


All I did was put some banners on a few of my sites.

Was it a single bookmarking site or was it a host of social bookmarking sites (like 10 or more)?? Was the bookmarking site(s) niche or general? What about your website was it niche or general?

The sites are general sites (picture sites that do well with bookmarking). Reddit is the main bookmarking site but some from stumble and digg as well. Forums have brought in a few decent visitors as well.

I've been seeing a significant traffic boost from Reddit as well, however I took the loads of traffic to be garbage traffic and seemed like it didn't convert well --- the bounce rate was extremely high for the Reddit traffic. I may need to take a closer look at the traffic Reddit is sending and see if I can get it to convert better. Maybe try different landing pages or something. Thanks for the answers.

Not sure if someone asked this but are you targetting big tickets items on Amazon or were you just lucky?

 

You do understand that, that's just the turnover from product sales your share is around 5%.

 

Can you give us a screenshot of the conversion rate? Clicks compared to sales.
