Well here is my first shot at a blog- i could use some suggestions on add placements and what other type of ads i should put on it. http://telescopebuyingguide.blogspot.com/ is it ok for a first blog? dont worry about hurting my feelings..lol also is there anyway to seo blogs besides keywords?
well it doesnt look too bad, but I always find it hard to take a blogspot blog seriously. If you want to be more professional, buy a domain name and some hosting and setup a wordpress blog. But with that aside..i think it looks pretty good. I like blending adsense with the background, but that could be a personal preference
I can suggest better adsense colors: Use the same grey as that table's background and change the links to: dark blue for links and dark grey for text + url).
Personally I would like to see more photos of telescopes. Different models and techniques of adjusting them. Put some links to articles and stuff. Bottom line, it is a good blog but i would like to see more dynamic content and images. Keep up the good work!
Yeah it was just an article i threw together quick to get accepted by adsense, I plan on adding pics of various types of scopes and like you said a collimation image or video when i update it- I have a problem though, when i try to add a second picture at the bottom it inserts it at the top before my first pic??? Why is this?
Just for my taste , I would like to see a little more content first before you throw the ads in my face, maybe: Some RSS feeds on the side bar from NASA, or some astrological societies. I like BIG pages with a lot going on, so I am a big fan of utilizing all of the space on the page. I like giving enough content to get people to want to come back and see what they missed last time, or look around a few pages and links. I also think that you can find a program that will offer you ads or banners that will compliment the page, like an amazon store or something like that. And maybe you can also offer some books on the subject, I mean if you are going to do it, you may as well "blow it out". JMO
I have seen a lot worse, lacking content but overall I thought it was a nice looking blog. Good luck with it.
You need to add more content. Also make the images on the right smaller, as these take your eyes away from the content, and it's this that people are supposed to be reading. The images at the top of the post are too small. Try adding this snippet of HTML <img src="Image URL" style="float:left;margin: 0 6px 3px 0"> Code (markup): It'll put the image on the left hand side and content down the side.
well i changed things up a bit- my colors seem a bit intense but I think it fits the topic well- I cant figure out how to get my nasa feed to load into the layout. Anyway- I made it to google page 8- If i park it on a subdomain and get a couple backlinks do you think it will do better?
