Well Ive actually taken the plunge and composed my first article, but I dont know what to do next. Whats the current thinking on submitting to article sites. Should I submit to as many as I can find or should I limit it to one or two of the highest PR sites out there. Theres another thread on here listing a lot of article sites and having seen them all Im not sure where to start...

    I'd appreciate any assistance.

I suggest you to submitt it to the 20-30 biggest article directories out there. Just search for article directories at google and pick them one after one. Why? Well, simply because of googles aggressive dualcontent penalty.

Another alternative is to offer webmasters your article directly by email or MSN(if you have been active in the buy section, you have a lot).

After a few days or so, I suggest you to write a new article and repeat the process.

Ok, thanks. I've just posted to articledashboard and goarticles.com. I'll see if the article gets approved before submitting to more. Is it worth me amending the article for each site I submit too or is that a waste of effort?

    badwolf,

Feel free to submit your article to www.articlecat.com. I'll approve your article quickly. ArticleCat.com has a very high standard for quality. Your article would be posted along with other high quality articles.

I wouldn't think you need to amend your article for each site you submit to. I never have, but then again, I might not know something that someone else may know. :) If you do any amending, don't wear yourself out. ;)

As you are going to share your article with others(and lose the uniqueness of your content), I would suggest to submit your article to as many sources as you can.

    I concur. :)

Of course, you may find it's only worth your time to submit to the medium and larger sites. :p

Thanks for the advice. I am now submitting to as many article sites as possble. Thanks also to DP member Tim_myth for pointing me at a very useful (and free) little tool called Article Distributor, available from www.downloads.com. He wrote it himself I believe and it has speeded up the submission process quite considerably. So big up to Tim :D
