My First Amazon Conversion after 3 months

I started adding links to amazon products in one of my blog. I was sending under 10 clicks to amazon daily without any success. Until now I have over 350 direct links to amazon products and have sent a total of 596 clicks to Amazon in 3 months without anyone really buying anything.

Few days back I was considering to leave Amazon associate program as I didn't had any success so far but yesterday I logged in to check the stats, I saw that my links were clicked 145 times and out of them 4 people did actually made a purchase. The purchase total $250 approx which gave me a commission of nearly $10 :D . Not a very big one but I might be at a stage where I have seemed to created enough links that I might be seeing conversions on regular basis.

So what do you guys say is it worth to keep adding links or it was just my lucky day  ?

Good work that is great :) Now you see that you need traffic to gain some money, senind 200 hits a day to Amazon is easy, try to make more specific blogs for that.

The key isn't the amount of Amazon links you have.... if that were the case, we'd all be scrambling to put as many Amazon links everywhere as we could....

It's about targeting traffic.... i saw the only blog you have is an internet marketing one.... and the people who read those blogs, for the most part, are ones who don't click ads, period. try using your internet marketing skills.... find a niche that is based around a product (pet clothes, or blenders, or rakes, or anything that is a product) and create a lobg based around that, and start building links to the site, and you'll start seeing a lot better conversions.

I have product based sites, and have made $23,000 in the last 12 months from Amazon.

    Thanks for the tip Breakaway11.

The blog you visited is not the blog that is responsible for those sales.

And I can hardly disagree what you have said.

Thanks for sharing your thought ! :)

Are the products people purchased from those links the same as the niche of your blog primarily? If not, you're just lucky people bought something. You might be spending unnecessarily way too much effort for something that is not working/converting

yes, amazon is a very good site and it makes a good money too.try sending more free traffic on your blog.it doesnot depend on how many blogs or links you have it depends on traffic which is converting your sale. So,keep posting your blog links on free social sites like squidoo, wetpaint. They all contribute in sending free trraffic to your site.
    Thanks!

    You are absolutely right.

4 more sales today and this totals 10 sales out of which 6 items have been delivered.

I have to wait till tomorrow to see what commission rate I get for 7th - 10th ordered items.

    Glad you got your sale.

I have just started with amazon astores and have been reading alot of forums and blogs. I still have a lot to do to my site. I would appreciate any comments and help from anyone to get my first sale or at least options to start getting traffic. I have been told that back linking and social bookmarking are my best option for now. My site is http://www.stebos-offers.co.uk

I know I still have loads to do, but i hope it will be worth the effort. :)

Nice job! Conversion work very good especially when you link the specific product related with keyword that you use in your blog post.
