Do you have access to server logs? If not, request them saying you want the info to help with marketing analysis or something similar, then look closely at who is visiting your site. Not to be such a pessimist, but I suspect you may find some anomalies, be careful.

 

Actually according to an "Informationweek" article in January, 56% of Google's income is derived from advertising on it's own sites. 43% is from other web sites and magazines where Google places ads for a share of the revenue, and 1% from "other."

 

Knowing something exists and knowing what it does are two different things. I'm sure other people are making this kind of money with their own techniques. With a lot of effort it is certainly possible. I was just caught by surprise by the ease of use and the rapid results. It still did take a couple months but that is much shorter than I thought it would take.

I agree with you on this. I know that most people here that are doing large numbers have worked at the traffic for quite some time now. So how is it that in only a month or so time you can generate the kind of traffic necessary to get these numbers. Just an observation is all. Just seems a little difficult to believe.

It probably makes more sense to use CUSTOM written content and RESEARCHED link compilations with autogenerated stuff. Just relying on autogenerated stuff probably won't work in the long run as more and more people use the same script/application. IMHO.

 

He has some sales copy that he has been putting together but he doesnt know if he is going to release all of the features up front. I don't think he wants to release "X" when "X minus 10" will signup the same number of people.

He is also buying a lot more servers to handle the expected load. I would imagine that the first release would be in June or July. I don't know this for fact but based on some of the things he says it sounds like that is the timeframe.

That comment on the logs is a good one. I'm going to ask to look at them, though I think he will be installing the Enterprise Web Trends on the system so that people can monitor their own logs.

Keep in mind that the sites got a lot of traffic quickly but not all was natural. He has this secret arbitrage system built in that delivers qualified traffic. It is a two step approach (at least based on what the Sales Copy says). Most people cant afford to wait for months to get traffic naturally so his system bridges that gap by sending traffic while you wait to get ranked. I think my sites are at a point where they are just starting to get some natural traffic.
