do you use any click fraud detection methods?

    click fraud - not yet.

i'm playing around with placement targeting. i find myself having to bid like 5x what i want/need to though to get impressions.

    1) as high as possible as long as its converting well

    2) 1:80 give or take. Less then 10% of the 80 make it to the ringtones merchant page.

AJ22- your a stud...so cool of you to share some great info. Anyone with half a brain can follow what youve shared in this thread and probably test out a niche and tweak in just a fraction of the time it would normally require...some great ideas on how to use adwords to aff landing pages, and actually make a profit.
Kudos to you for sharing the info.
Thanks. Gave you some green BTW...

aj22, I get the feeling there is one particular marketing "word" that you haven't mention that could be the big key turner to how you get things working. You dont have to say it...but am I correct?

Azoogle always pays on time every time, so I'll get it on Feb 15th for January. I got my last payment on Jan 15th for December. You don't need to worry about payments with Azoogle.

Not sure if it's a single word, maybe a paragraph. A short paragraph.

so you got a bunch of untargeted traffic you just send to a ringtone page and hope it converts?

pretty much, and if it doesn't, find the next batch of low cost untargeted traffic.

    aj22,

Typically, how long do you give a campaign before you bail out and determine it's not converting, a day, a week?
I'm hesitate to bleed money if I don't see some good conversions from clicks. especially on low dollar items.

I'll typically drop about $30-40 on an ad group with average CPC of .10 or lower. If you can't get a conversion out of 300 or 400 clips, probably ain't gonna happen.

So your pages (aside from a few) to the ringtone offers aren't always on auto pilot like alot of these PPC stuff are?

once i build out an ad group (niche) that works and converts well, it's all autopilot from there.

I got a question in regards to the content network. When doing keyword research for search network, we all know to go for "buying" keywords. But for content network...i would assume that it would be more broader and less targetted?

Pick a keyword, put it into Google keyword tool. Pick whatever 150 come out of that and shove them in an ad group. The key is to make sure the same keyword appears most of the way down - which it usually does. In that, I mean that if you enter 'cat food', Google returns 150 rows of:

    cat food
    cat food stores
    cat food tips
    cat food places

etc. etc. These are the keywords you want. 150 of them, 1 ad group, Broad match.

    Good luck.
