Some Adgroups have 50 keywords, some have up to 160 or 170. All depends on how creative I am that day, I guess.

And no, none of them relate to ringtones; that goes against aj's entire concept/methodology. "ringtone", "ringtones", "ring tone", "ring tones", "tones", etc, etc, or any variation of the above do not exist in any of my campaigns.

    On another note,

I'm stumped as to why new adgroups/campaigns take so long to start populating in the content network. A few people reported only a few hours, but this newest campaign has been live for over 12 hours and not a single impression. I know the keywords are good, and there is an overall "theme." Guess I have no choice other than to remain patient :)

I don't know how long you are working with Adwords, but lowering your bids in hours doesn't make any sense. Maybe you misunderstood something. You have to work on your campaign for weeks before you lower your bids. Even than, you will lower them for $0.04-$0.07. But, from $0.40 to $0.10 in couple of hours.....The system doesn't work like that.
Yesterday you received 2 leads. Do you know which 2 keywords brought you this 2 leads? Start from there.:)

Sure makes sense to me - why spend $0.50 per click if I can receive the same number of clicks for $0.10? Not sure what I could have misunderstood. What doesn't make sense, to me, is wasting money over the period of "weeks" before lowering bids.

I'm in the process of implementing conversion tracking. I'm not sure which keywords my conversions came from, but I have implemented dynamic subids to know which ads & pages they're coming from. How can I know which keyword from the content network converted to a lead? I didn't think that was even possible; please provide some documentation/instructions on how to accomplish this.

AJ, nice job on your success!

Although I'm not promoting ringtones, your strategy is good and I wanna apply it to my vertical market. Had a couple of questions if you have the time:

Do you register a new domain for each TOPIC landing page to keep your quality score up? I'm having a hard time imagining Google wanting to drop a user on www.catfood.com/pingpongballs even if your ad and landing page content are relevant.

Also, I'm assuming you also use Google Conversion Tracking from the most recent posts, but do you use Google Analytics as well?

Ok so I just reread the entire thread for the 2nd time. This time I took detailed notes.

13 pages of notes 4000+ words on MS Word.

Thanks AJ for the original post and the recent condensed cliff notes.

I need to generate some seed money to get started. I smoked $250 getting my lawn seeded and fertilized. (The yard should be pimpin' in a few weeks!)

Congrats again on the success and I hope you continue with greater success. I'm still in dream mode, dreaming of even a $1000 MONTH.

    Metaphor?? Hear of it?

Spent $250 now on SEED, FERTILIZER, so that it will be GREEN in a few weeks!

    Get outside of the box.

But it's a true story though. Front yard should be looking great in a few weeks.

    Thank your for sharing story.

I also think your lowering bid doesn't make sense. At least google cn need 3 hours to get report, how can you react so quickly? Besides lowering bids could also decrease your traffic. Maybe you are getting more impr from more adsense sites when time passed by, so you feel the imprs are same. But you defenitely lose impr from orinigal sites which gave you the first 1-2 conversions, due to lower price. A reaonable guess is these sites have better audience for this offer.

As to tracking, many buddies includ Aj mentioned it before. Get your conversion pixel from google and pass it to your AM, that's all. You can not load it by yourself because it is too big.

    Thank you for your explanation.

So what's the purpose of the "Universal Pixel" tool in the Azoogle dashboard?

I am in other networks but I think they are same at this point. We could upload some tracking pixels except search engine pixels. They are too big, can only be uploaded by AM manually.

Wait a sec you can actually use adwords conversion tracking? I though since they added that stupid text and feedback crap to the pixel that you wouldn't be able to use it. Wouldn't the sales page have like 200 little feedback text logo stuff on it?

Isn't this why he asked if you put it into a php page on your end and then made a pixel to point to the php page with the feedback text?

    Hey Aj,

Do you think you could leave your campaign for a week without touching it and even looking at your campaign and still make money or does it require constant checking.

Also, have you thought about outsourcing some of your work?

    Thanks for the reply.

Yea, it was on autopilot for about 4 days a few weeks back while I went on a short vacation - all was fine.

As for outsourcing, not yet... may soon though.

    Aj,

thanks to you, I'm closer to my eventual 4 days of autopilot.

    Today's Stats, So Far:
    Spent on Adwords: $11.27
    Azoogle Earnings: $39
Profit for Today (so far): $27.73

This may seem insignificant to some, but if this campaign continues this path, I'll soon begin learning the art of scaling :)
