How is your avg CPC less than your actual bid? Did you just ramp it up?

I thought the minimum bid on adwords was 0.05

Your bid is a maximum bid. It's the most that you will ever pay for a click, but it's not how much you pay for every click.

    OK, I get it. I thought $0.20 meant $0.20 meant $0.20.

So if you OVERBID, AdWords automatically drops your bid a bit? Seems awfully nice of them. You would think they would gobble up every penny that they could.

It's a lot like eBay's bidding system...When you bid on something at eBay, you are submitting the maximum amount that you're willing to pay for that item, but if you win, you don't necessarily pay that price. What you pay is whatever is right above the next highest bidder. That's how Adwords works as well, only theirs is a bit more complicated because they take quality score into account also - An ad with a high quality score could outrank an ad with a lower quality score but a higher bid.

But that's only on Search, right? I'm under the impression that QS means nothing on Content.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

Why does Adwords run your ad for about an hour for $.15/click and then brings it up to $10.00 a click? They gave me the keyword "ebay" for a while but I only got 37 clicks for about 10,000 impressions.

I can't imagine Google would give anyone but ebay a high QS on that keyword.

It seems that the "real" secret here is getting cheap PPC on relevant websites to what you're offering. If my only solution here is to place ads on Google's content network, aren't I better off just adveritising through Adbrite?

Sure, if you think AdBrite has as many websites in its advertising network as Google does, go for it.

Personally, I figure that, with Google, I'm getting at least 10 times the exposure.

Yeah, but anything over $.20 a click won't give you any positive ROI in most markets. If the guy who started this post paid double the amount for his clicks, he would actually lose money.

so what's wrong if we just send the visitor direct to the product site without our landing page first?

Well, I have an affiliate about Male Enhancement and I use this technique, but no landing page just direct to the main site. 0.40 cents bid. 41 clicks= $ 7.20 I got one sale this afternoon for $ 40 profit . I think it take more money to make more money, but I am kinda worry to spend more money and get less sale.

I don't think Big G will let you get away with that for too long.

Usually, once they figure out that you are direct linking to an affiliate link, they will 'slap' you and have you paying $5.00 per click.
