    Thanks for your response.

I guess I'm just kinda confused how you get untargetted traffic to convert. I always read about targetted keywords to laser targetted ppc ads to targetted keyword rich landing pages. Your method seems unorthodox but, that's good it's working for you. You did mention that cellphones an ubiquitous part of society, so that probably has something to do with it.

    Hello,

    Congrat for your success.

I don't know if I miss this part but do you get customers to buy the cat food as well as the ringtone?

Content is more susceptible to click fraud and is not as targeted (user did not search for "cat food").

    aj22,

First of all, thank you very much for sharing your experience with us - this is highly appreciated..!

You mentioned you have about 150 keywords in each content-network adgroup - can you share with us please how many adgroups you use for generating ~6,000 daily clicks ?

Also, do you use the Googl-compliant version of the ringtones offer page or the regular? I know google is preventing now most of its advertisers to use a ringtones offer without a checkbox, however, as you are using a unique setup for your ads, I wonder if you may be able to use the non-compliant version as you are only 'advertising a ringtone offer on your website' but not actively promoting it through the ad.

    Thanks...

He's not sending them directly to the ringtones landing page but his own custom landing page that's relevant to the adgroup/keywords. So in his case, it wouldn't matter.

I don't know if I miss this part but do you get customers to buy the cat food as well as the ringtone? From what I understand, you only generate profit from ringtones so you don't sell that cat food.

    Am I right?

Okay, normally I wouldn't say anything but this is starting to drive me nuts. Read the whole thread before you post, please. That will answer most of the questions so that we can learn new things from aj22 instead of going over what's already been said, k? :)

He's NOT selling cat food. It was just an example of a topic to make the ads relevant to the keywords and landing page, thus generating a decent CTR and giving the visitors a little bit of info on the topic as well.

I don't know...the more I think about, the more I think he really IS using cat food as one of his uber niches. With over 8 million hits on google and a whopping 173,000,000 hits on yahoo....there just maybe something there after all! :p

Haha, try it. I'm really not though, it was the first thing that came to mind. That would be a riot if it worked though.

sorry if this was answered before

    when you go from:

    catfood-adgroup----->catfood landing page---->ringtones landing page--->ringtones merchant offer

How do you make the transition from catfood landing page---->ringtone landing page

do you have a banner on your catfood page to the ringtones page and that's all?

    thanks

Is the ringtones offer a pop-up on your main landing page?

No it's not. The user clicks a link. They aren't forced in any way shape or form.

Oh a key from Dell - SEGMENT YOUR MARKET. That's how I did it. Michael Dell was selling newspaper subscriptions in his teens. He realized he got the most conversions from newlyweds and people who moved into the area. So he went to the courthouse and got the records of newlyweds and went after them. Needless to say, his accounting teacher was suprised when she found out he made more money than her just by selling newspapers.

for example on ringtones - ask yourself what is the hottest teen show (hannah montana?) ? what is the top selling artists right now? (check billboard -soulja boy)

    anyways hope that was helpful

Okay, now my interest is peaked. Did you sell ringtones as well? I think that I am uneducated on the whole ringtone thing, but is it basically people buying the lastest for their phone and then you get a cut?

Is there other advertising involved as well?
