My First $100 With Adsense: Worth It?

I won't mention his name. A lot of VERY NICE people @ DP have helped me in private conversations. There are so many great, kind people here.

I have asked so many freaking questions @ DP. I honestly bug the pizz out of people here. I have probably spent over 200 hours here alone.

The $60 or so for domains was for 7 domains I think. Registered 1 for 4 years.

Several people have PM'ed me for my sites. I will share a few here. Just remember that this was a learning process for me. I knew nothing going into this, and I barely know anything now. And you need to take into consideration that the majority of the internet users(including myself) have a 1024x768 Monitor. Scrolling horizontally is very unappealing.

 

He is an SEO genius, regardless of anything I say.

Thank you about the DUI site. It holds the most promise. My traffic to it, as of today, is almost zero though. This is partially due to my host. They have had mysql server issues for nearly a month, and have been going down regularly. I am trying to find out how to move my sites now.

Yes, many of my sites have errors (page size, etc.). It's all been part of the process. I am learning as I go.

 

Woww! That's great you made 100$ in first 2 months - eventually i made it in 5 months but not alike by spending such amount

 

One more, why did you make those sites?

Was it for the niche or are those topics that you really know?

 

I made the kid site because I have 3 of them : 10, 12, and 16. I figured I have spent a million on them, so I figured that was funny enough to make into a site.

I made the Cajun site because my wife is a Cajun, and I live in Louisiana. I probably know more than 99% of the country about Cajuns, and I find it interesting.

I made the LSU site for my son. We work on it together. We are both LSU football fanatics.

I made the laser site because I LOVE lasers!

I made the DUI site because it is related to my profession, I enjoy the topic, and several friends of mine that are DUI defense attorneys told me that they would gladly pay handsomely to advertise on it if I could get traffic. So far, I have failed at that. But it's early.

I made a couple free blogs to help me index my other sites.

I made a few other free blogs about my own work and hobbies.

My original site (not mentioned here) was something to make my kids laugh.

I only have 1 site that was made just for the kw, and I am redoing it.

Lastly, I see no problem with someone targeting a niche just for the high paying kw. If they can create great content, or pay someone to, power to them. Many of the big movers in adsense could care less about their topic. They do it for the $$, and I completely respect that. When you approach it that way, this becomes a job, and that can make a real difference.

Regardless of the website your SEO can't be good if you are not generating thousands of organic visitors. Secondly its a bit hard to classify any seo as good or bad.

 

Analyze http://duilawslawyers.com for seo. Keep in mind that the site is about 3 weeks old. My problem with it, I believe, is the host. Since I have created that site, I have had SO many problems with Start Logic dot com. They are down every day. their mysql servers are crawling. They told me that they are working on it. It's a nightmare.

I believe that the seo on that site is good. 8k backlinks. Good internal linking structure. Good meta kw's, description, page title, and url's. If you see something wrong, PLEASE let me know.

I didn't start this thread to talk about seo. It just came up somehow. lol

Why do you have so many sites- believe me, that's not the best way to learn how to make money online.

Try to build one really good site - and when this site is up and running on "autopilot" make another site related to your previous niche.

In my opinion, knowing people in your niche is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing if you want to make some really good bucks online.

 

gooner4ever is right - free hosting and online ads are my niches, and I have done very well to stick with them!

 

I have a lot of sites because they are all experiments. I made the first one just to see what it involved. Then I made the second one to try Dreamweaver. Then the third one to try adsense. And so on it goes.

I'm not like you all. You are probably very tech savvy people. I'm not. This was a huge challenge for me.

Every site I make gets better, I think. My latest true site is the DUI one. My latest free blog is in my sig. If you think those are bad, you should have seen my first one!!! That was really, really bad. lolol

I know the saying around here, "Find something you care about. Write a bunch of unique content on it. Keep going until it pays. Rinse and repeat."

If I still feel like it, I may end up making 20 more sites until I am happy with the results.

PS: Try getting quality, related backlinks. You might have 8000 backlinks but i could not see any quality ones.

You can structure your site properly from the beginning. That is what on-site seo is about. Good internal link structure, url's, meta description, etc. This is the foundation of seo. After that it's about the backlinks. A 1 day old site can start off on the right path, or the wrong one (as far as seo goes). I believe the dui site is on the right path.

As far as the backlinks it has, what do you define as "quality" ones? Do you refer to their PR? If so, the pr's of these are from N/A to 6. The vast majority are do-follow.

Or are you referring to the relevancy? If so, the need for that is very debatable.
