I was told that if I got 25 fans for my fan page, all of the numbers that trail after my URL would disappear. Since I have almost 40 fans, why do all those numbers and gobbeldy-gook still appear here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Cartoons-For-Licensing/140248492675378 I assumed, it should be: http://www.facebook.com/cartoons-for-licensing Any input / feedback/thoughts/help/constructive criticism would help greatly. thank you!
Here is my regular page: http://www.facebook.com/danscartoons - this is not my concern. I have my FAN PAGE here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Cartoons-For-Licensing/140248492675378 So to REITERATE: I was told to eliminate all those numbers that trail from my fan page URL, I'd need a minimum 25 fans....which I now have (actually about 37)....so my question is unanswered as to why all those numbers appear there. I don't want to have to use that URL to link to when I post a graphic on my homepage. I want it to read as: http://www.facebook.com/cartoons-for-licensing (what gives?) anyone able to help myself or Wheezer figure this out?
Jack: I wanted to include a screenshot in this damb thread . . . . now I see you can't. How about EMAILING ME DIRECT: so I can show this thing to you and go from there. This DP gets to be a joke after a while.
Yes, I have logged into my account and get the screenshot below. So, Both names are available....because I have them as actual pages on Facebook. SO, my question remains....WHY are all those numbers appearing after my specific URL "Cartoons-for-licensing"?
So yes, I can log into my account aqnd have already gone to that specific URL, and still all of those numbers appear after my URL "cartoons for licensing"...why? http://s1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa468/dinrock1/?action=view¤t=fanpage2.jpg&newest=1
OK - I figured how to upload that screenshot to Photobucket, so as you can see, I can log into my account and verify that yes, in fact, that name"cartoons for licensing" is available because I have an actual fan page for that. However, how do I get rid of all those numbers that trail the URL? How do I get it cleaned up, so to speak? I ask this so that I can make a FB "like" button to link to that page from my index page at http://www.danscartoons.com In no way, am I concerned about my other http://www.facebook.com/danscartoons because that is a personal page.
I figured it was more complicated than that. Really, truth-be-told, Facebook is getting to be more of a bother than it's worth. I may just delete thiese accounts and look for another resource.
