My Experience with This PR Update

Did anyone receive PR boost to there homepage? I am referring to PR boost to a home-page which already had PageRank? It appears to me this PR update was only to pages which had no PR.

Never had it, probably never will:)
Been so long, I've stopped caring and my ranking in Google just keeps getting better anyway.

The only thing that pisses me off about this deal are the companies that won't provide backlinks without a high PR score. Personally I think they're just cutting their own throats since I will definitely remove my backlink to them. How many backlinks are they missing out on because of assumptions about the benefits of PR.

What are you talking about Rbucich? PR was updated yesterday. I didn't notice any improvements on sites with PR- but I did see one decrease (a page went from PR5 to a PR4)

My homepage stayed at PR4 and my internal pages went to PR4 which would indicate to me that my home page is either a PR5 or a PR6 now :D

Same situation -- Most first level inside pages now equal my homepage --

Hi all. I have a fairly new shop that finally got out of the PR0 yesterday and went to a PR3. Now, I realize that PR isn't that important as far as serp placement is concerned but I was wondering what the best way to increase my page ranking would be. Is it mainly the quality and quantity of incoming links? Thanks!

BTW - I now see where the option is that allows me to see when somebody replies to a post - my apologies for any non-response to my previous posts.

After extreme analysis of my back links I have calculated my current Page Rank to roughly be 1,331,341 out of 10. Prove me wrong ;)

one of my newer sites was sitting on a very low pr, like pr1 or 2,
i dunno ... who keeps track.... but it shot up to 4 in this toolbar update. Also all inner pages shot up to the same, PR4. :D

Something seems to have effected the way google treats inner pages. Ive seen alot of inner pages of sites getting a better PR flow through after this update ..... or maybe we're all just getting better backlinks ;)

I have sites with existing homepage PR that went up and sites that went down and PR0 sites that got their initial PR as well.

i've had a couple index pages move up, but noticed more significant changes to interior pages. also, something very rare - i have a links/resources page that itself has a PR 4 now while the homepage of the site is only a lowly PR 2. to my knowledge all the incoming links point to the homepage. explanation?

My site's inner pages were down in PR and now they are all up again now from 1 to 3 together with the homepage from 2 to 3.

In fact, upon further review I've noticed that ALL of my interior pages for this one site are PR 4 (small site, about 10 interior pages all well linked from the homepage) whereas the homepage is still a 2. Is it possible Google is either penalizing the homepage or being reluctant to allow its PR to go up from the lowly 1 it was to much higher during one update? Possibly is the update not yet complete?

I'm pretty certain now that the true PR for my site is a high 9 or low 10. However, for obvious reasons, Google doesn't want me or you to see that on the toolbar or in the Google directory, so the only people who know about it are Google and me. Still, it's a comfort...

Ok, I made a mistake earlier. I was looking at a secondary page. The main home page for my site went from a PR0 to a PR4 - Secondary page PR0 to PR3 - Third Level pages PR0 to PR2. I had better continue to link link link!

I'm with you 100% on that one Minstrel...

Of course I am in the same situation, the real PR of my sites is somewhere aroung the 11/12 mark, but for obvious reasons, G have decided not to let everyone know...

Here's an email they sent me

    See - I am the best ;)
