Hmmm... AuctionAds carries eBay ads, right? eBay is mostly for sale of physical items, so there are not going to be many items for sale with your keywords, I reckon. Ajax might start giving you ads for Ajax football team kits and household detergents...!

My feeling would be that you might want to aim for keywords like "pc accessories" - i.e. thinking laterally, what sort of stuff are your visitors likely to be interesting in buying? And aiming at slightly more expensive stuff too, hopefully! Just my thought, what do I know, my experience with it is not that good anyway.

That's exactly right.... look for products that may not be directly linked to your niche but products that would be sort after by your user demographics.

An update on this, I entered the keyword Ajax in the AA Get Code page and did indeed start getting ads for detergent and football kits! And even for some kid's toy truck!

Though I did also notice some ads for some more valuable web development books and software packages coming up, which sounds more promising...

Maybe make your keywords not so broad to narrow down on particular products.

I had to do this on my automotive based site.

Right, Ajax the Dutch soccer team! :)

Good luck! I have reinstated AA on some of my sites, so we shall see...

Hm. I guess its too early for me to tell. I installed AA not too long ago on one of my sites. So far not a whole lot happening. I guess I need to mess around with it some more, although I do have to say I love the targeting by keywords. Seems to result in a decent CTR (considering my placement which isn't great, as I want to see some earnings before giving better spots). If it goes well, I will load AA to some higher traffic stuff.

I must admit that I am not finding the ads 100% targetted to my content. I have laptops on a page and use the keywords laptops and I also get wii products, and other computer products other than laptops.

You can play around with the keywords a bit. It's also worth reading the examples. I think its a very powerful combination, but it takes a bit of messing around.
On the site I am using AA they are much more on topic now then Adsense ever was (I dropped Adsense).

If I had a day to spare I would, but it wouldn't be worth my while. If you use laptops, then laptops should really show up or things to do with laptops and not nintendos. OK, if there is not enough products then it shows the most popular products, but with laptops there should be enough products.

Playing around with keywords will mean that I would have to do a rewrite of all my sites scripts just so that I can do that. The reasons for this is because it is using the same keywords that I use for my titles. Each page on my site is produced dynamically so I am pulling the keywords dynamically into AuctionAds for each single page of my site. I have over 2,000 categorys in the site where I would have to tweak and change over 2,000 keywords for each category. For example, for laptops category, I will use the keyword laptops in auctionads as that keyword is already in the database as it was used on my site already for the title of the site.

Well, no pain no gain. Anyone in this Forums should at least know this much.
I can't expect to throw up some Affiliate stuff and expect it to convert.

Obviously you have time to post lengthy messages, but have no time to change a few keywords.

Nothing is easy money and to get the most effectiveness out of anything you need to put in some work.

Play with the keywords, try negative keywords etc... I am sure AA allows you to do that now.

Don't worry what I'm saying above. lol, I'm not one of the persons who can never be bothered with stuff. I spend hours apon hours testing stuff. To do the site where the auctionads is listed on at the moment I had spent over 1 year developing the sites scripts and then around 10 - 20 days testing them.

Hi, seems to be a lot of software coming up now, but a lot of kids PC games and stuff, it seems. Maybe you want to get even more specific, find some specific books or software packages that are often sold on eBay and use them as keywords? I dunno, I really haven't had a huge amount of success with AA either, but targetting your keywords this way seems to make sense...

Nice report. I have a question, how does Shoemoney make money? Does he take a portion of what you make, if so, what percent do you get vs. what ebay gets vs. what he gets? Thanks

I assume due to the volume he gets a special rate from ebay.
So while the publishers get 100% of the normal ebay commission, Shoe makes money since AA gets a better rate.
