In June, AA outdid my adsense by 20% - and aa is on less pages. But - I agree, AA isnt for every site. I think it is a great program for forums, but it depends on the niche your topic is in. I have car forums. These guys but parts, etc off ebay all the time. I dont think you would do as well with a beanie baby forum,
i agree i have webmaster site and i put laptops;pcs;games;webmasters;domains; and so far i have seen lots of clicks AA is great for forums
While working on my sites today, I noticed I'm not seeing any of the problems with ads not loading. Maybe Shoemoney threw a few more hamsters on the wheel.
I think its important to know your niche in auction ads. Its nice that you can target specific products. Since I know my niche is university students I've got Ipods and Xboxs running, they get decent clicks and every once and a while I get a sale. My Adsense barely outperformed the auction ads last month, but if I took AA off I think I'd have lost money.
What you might want to try is targetting more university stuff. I dont knwo the site your talking about, but if you could target specific universities, then maybe do some searches for their logo clothing and see if you could use their keywords. Might also try tickets for events like football games. Laptops might also be a good thought. From everything I have seen, people who are not doing well either have very little traffic, a niche not prone to eBay buyers or bad keyword selection.
Thats a good idea.. I might try that. I've just started testing google's referral system.. it sucks. Virtually no clicks on it!!! Plus payouts are much less then auction ads even. Good things going for it are that it fits into your existing adsense analytics, and doesn't require any approval.
Is it just me or is the auctionads script broken? There's no news or anything so I don't know what's going on. When I try to create code, I get garbage results: "horror" => gives me stuff with the word horror as expected "horror dvd" => gives me star wars collectibles Nothing is working except single keywords. I assume things are still being fixed...
It seems to go down every Sunday for a day or two - either showing at all, showing blank thumbnails, or showing irrelevant ads. I've been very patient but my revenue keeps dropping (for reasons unknown to me! Same traffic, placement ...). So I'm getting to the point where I might have to try something else.
Same here, result is a dramatic drop in my clicks and income. Sad, because AA was starting to work out really well for me with a record of $28+ on one day. Something seems amiss with there cache. Also get a lots of "connection reset" error messages instead of ads. Sent couple of mails, actually did get a response so don't be to sarcastic about AA support, considering the limited amount of personal the really do care. So, it's a matter of riding the troubles out.
