My ex-friend made $400 a day with Adsense - Need help analyzing his website

You two are crasy. One thing I can garaty is selling sex pics of you is not going to make you 400$ a day...not even close to, lets say, 5 cents.

The only thing I enjoyed about this thread was seeing that naked chicked, make a porn site and you'll make alot of profits like someone had said earlier, as for your exbuddies site doing so good, hes got a good name that attracts people, hes got information that attracts people, and than hes got the ads, maybe hes got some service where he doesn't pay anyone anything, I'm not sure about it but that's crazy.

 

If it gives you any comfort, telling everyone on Digital Point about your ex-friend's website and that it makes 400 dollars a day from adsense will get a whole lot of people analyzing it and making their own copycat sites like it, thus giving him competition and less profits.

 

It's $800 a day. Adsense alone is $400. It seems they are constantly adding fresh content. The domain was registered in 2002. So he's added content on the site for six years. In order to match that you will need 10 pages a week for 6 years.

It seems that your ex-freind is thinking ahead. I know that there are a lot of medical transcription outsourcers in the phillipines. Your ex-freind may be using his new wife to handle calls etc and building up content on the cheap.

Like I said he may have started to hate you and his workers when he started to get nervous about you jumping his shark. Where you asking a lot of questions?

 

1) I agree their site is nothing fabulous however, at least their site is organized. I've seen their site mentioned in the media somewhere, sometime ago, but I cannot find the link. If you do a search for escapeartist.com reviews you would get quite a few links. Forbes magazine website had a good review for them. (think backlinks).

If you did a search for : "overseas (ranked #2)", living overseas, job overseas, you will see that they rank #1 for all of those keywords.

Not every successful site needs adsense. They probably make a lot more money selling adspace + comission from their referrals...

2) I never once said your readers find your content boring nor did I say anything about "no one" finds your content persuasive etc.... I am sure they love you to death. Personally I have traveled quite a bit and seen more than many people but I think you fail to see the point. You gotta think bigger than the # of people you feel like you appease to... How many people do you think were turned away from your site? Impossible to find out but u can use tools to track how long users stay on your site. I can assure you that your site is really dated... again.. you keep on making excuses to keep the look of the site.... How many other people agree that your site looks like a blast from the past? That is a turn-off man... I would be embarassed to claim ownership of that site.

Your site needs to be redone from the ground up. It's not that hard and its relatively inexpensive. On the positive side, there are many many scripts out there that are tons cheaper than when I started my site.

I notice that you mention pulling forum post data to display on the main page. Search around or ask some of the members who are offering their services on DP... it's out there. That would be a good way to keep your main site current and fresh in case you are out of ideas.

3) Your ebook promo page has potential but you need to effectively market it as well. Don't expect to leave the content there w/o any type of advertisement and expect sales.

Escape Artist has been around a long time and it's got good content and reports. There's no way that one guy alone is going to match them.

What you need to do is create unique content and don't follow the crowd.

You can't be everything to everybody.
