If only amazon raised the publisher commissions, it would be a more viable option. I have managed to generate alittle more than $100 as "earnings" (commissions) from amazon..though the "revenues" were much more!

I started out an Amazon aStore guy, but now I'm a BANS and PHPbay guy, so I am primarily geared to eBay. However, I have kept Amazon ads on many of my sites for additional revenue. I get anywhere between 20-100 clicks through to Amazon a month and, I have probably made $15 in the last 7 months. At Christmas I did better with the program.

I don't like the short cookie (1 day) and I think a lot of people use Amazon for reviews and information, and then go out on the web looking for a better deal. Whether or not the eventually end back up at Amazon, that short cookie really reduces the chances of a commissionable transaction.

I also don't like you can't build an aStore in a vertical format. Most vertical format options (with the other widgets) are also too restrictive on size options. My two cents.

I have been at it for about 3 years. The first year hardly sold anything. Now selling more but not rich yet.

I never flip Amazon banners. I do very specific deep-linking in articles/posts about cameras and other gadgets. This time of year the conversion rate (click-thrus to orders) dips down to about 1%. At that conversion rate, if you get only 20 click-thrus a month, expect an order every 5 months.

My conversion rate rises to about 3.5% in Nov/Dec then starts falling in late January. An order can be for a pack of batteries or a $2,000 camera. It's unpredictable but always fun to see new orders in Associates Central.

I have made about $300 this year. Last xmas season I made about $1,500 on a developed site. I haven't made any money on astores....yet. I have a plan though. I think it will net some $$$ over the next few years. It's all passive income anyway. I hope you're not relying on A only to make your monthly nut...
